Abuja Workers Turn To Pick-Up Trucks Amid Rising Transport Costs dailytrust.com/abuja-workers-…
On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Ya Allah

Kaduna Governor Welcomes Thousands of ADC Defectors to APC in Zaria. The event saw over 200,000 defectors, strengthening APC ahead of 2027 elections. Governor Uba Sani's inclusive style drew opposition figures, with some calling the influx hundreds of thousands strong.
Tinubu, Akintola, El-Rufai: Why the North Cannot Trust Southwest in 2027 By Mohammed Bello Doka When Nasir El-Rufai stood before the world in June 2022 and declared that 12 out of 14 northern APC governors had agreed to cede presidential power to the South, he was hailed as a statesman, a unifier, a northern leader with the courage to put national interest above regional ambition. He told reporters that day that a super majority of northern governors had taken a decision and that everyone, including the defiant Yahaya Bello, was bound by it . It was a moment of rare political sacrifice from a region that had grown accustomed to holding the reins of power. Today, as El-Rufai languishes in the detention facilities of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the question that every thinking northerner must ask is this: What did the South do with that sacrifice? The answer is as devastating as it is simple. Silence. Complicity. Continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from southern political elites who have paid their media houses, their data boys, and their influencers not only to denigrate El-Rufai but to paint the entire North as a region of power-hungry traitors. And now, these same southern voices expect the North to trust zoning again in 2027. They expect northerners who can see, who can think, who have not been blinded by tribal sentiment, to once again hand over power to a region that has demonstrated exactly what it thinks of northern loyalty. Let us rewind to the beginning. Professor Ishaq Akintola, the founder of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has been remarkably candid about his role in this saga. In a press release dated March 23, 2026, Akintola confessed that MURIC was the first to demand a Yoruba Muslim president as far back as February 2021 . He and the Concerned Yoruba Muslim Scholars met and persuaded Tinubu to run. But they quickly realized that Yoruba Muslims alone could not deliver the presidency. They needed a handshake across the Niger. So they networked with northern Muslims and specifically sought out El-Rufai, whom they described as the only northern politician with the necessary political acumen to bring the North together behind Tinubu . The meeting between Akintola, other southwest leaders, and El-Rufai was not a casual affair. It was a strategic intervention. And here is the detail the southern establishment does not want you to remember: When Akintola and his delegation came to El-Rufai, the former governor was not on good terms with Tinubu. They were, by El-Rufai’s own admission, political adversaries. Akintola pleaded with El-Rufai to reconcile with Tinubu and to support the Yoruba Muslim project. And El-Rufai, against the wishes of many in the North, agreed . But where were the other southwest leaders? Who else from the region spoke out in that critical moment? The truth is, aside from Akintola and his small team of Islamic scholars, the southern political establishment was conspicuously quiet. They were happy to receive the North’s gift. They were ecstatic to watch El-Rufai publicly champion power shift, to watch him rebuff the naira redesign shenanigans that threatened Tinubu‘s election, to watch him accompany the candidate to Chatham House and defend the Muslim-Muslim ticket before an international audience . They were silent then because they were winning. They are silent now because silencing El-Rufai serves their purpose. MURIC warned of this betrayal as early as August 13, 2023, when the Senate first withheld El-Rufai’s ministerial nomination. In an emergency statement after its Central Think Tank meeting, MURIC declared that the non-confirmation was a major threat to future alliance between the North and the South-West. The group issued a chilling prophecy: "The North may not hobnob with the South-West again if the champion of the North-South alliance is shabbily treated" . Today, that prophecy is being fulfilled before our very
EFCC reopens Atiku case over 2006 corruption report vanguardngr.com/2026/10/efcc-r…
The disturbing video of Ahmed Zakka, reportedly abducted alongside his wife and infant child in Kaduna State, is a painful reminder of the insecurity that continues to threaten lives and tear families apart across Nigeria. No Nigerian should have to plead for their life or the safety of their family in the hands of criminals. The thought of an infant caught in this ordeal is especially heartbreaking. I urge the relevant security agencies to act swiftly and decisively to secure the safe release of Ahmed Zakka, his wife, their child and every other Nigerian still held in captivity. This tragedy comes as families are already struggling with the crushing cost of living. Nigerians are battling the rising cost of food, transport and other essentials; they should not also have to live in fear of being abducted in their homes or on the roads. Insecurity deepens hardship, disrupts livelihoods and leaves families bearing both emotional and financial burdens they can scarcely afford. The government must move beyond assurances and deliver an effective, sustained response: rescue those in captivity, protect vulnerable communities and dismantle the networks responsible for these crimes. Every Nigerian deserves to live, work and raise a family without the constant fear of violence. My thoughts and prayers are with the Zakka family and all families enduring the trauma of kidnapping. The protection of every Nigerian life must remain an overriding responsibility of government. —AA
Projects in Lagos, Campaign in Kaduna Amid Insecurity: What Will @officialABAT Promise Now? By Mohammed Bello Doka 11 October, 2026. On December 3, 2023, a Nigerian Army drone struck Tudun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing at least 85 civilians who had gathered for a religious celebration. Among the dead were women, children, and the elderly. President Bola Tinubu did not visit. On September 2024, another military airstrike hit Giwa Local Government Area, killing at least 24 more civilians in what the military called a mistaken targeting of bandits. President Tinubu did not visit. In September 2025, bandits descended on Kachia Local Government Area and abducted 152 people in a single operation. President Tinubu did not visit. In July 2025, windstorms and heavy rainfall devastated five local government areas, displacing 6,172 people and killing six. President Tinubu did not visit. In August 2024, bandits attacked communities in Kajuru Local Government Area, killing four, injuring three, and abducting thirty-seven. President Tinubu did not visit. In September 2025, floods submerged parts of Zaria Local Government Area, affecting 476 people. President Tinubu did not visit. Now, after three and a half years of blood, tears, and silence, the APC has chosen Kaduna as the launchpad for its 2027 presidential campaign. The same Kaduna where 85 people were buried in a mass grave after a Nigerian drone bombed them. The same Kaduna where 152 people were carted away into forests by bandits while the president was in Lagos commissioning buses. The same Kaduna where communities have been orphaned by airstrikes, emptied by kidnappings, and drowned by floods. What exactly is Tinubu coming to tell the people of Kaduna? What is he coming to promise again? Since May 29, 2023, President Tinubu has visited Kaduna exactly twice. The first was a one-day working visit in June 2025 to commission a vocational training institute, a 300-bed specialist hospital, and 100 CNG buses, most of which were state government projects. The second was a private visit in September 2025 to attend a wedding and condole with the widow of a former president. Two visits in three and a half years. Not one of those visits was to console the victims of Tudun Biri. Not one was to visit the families of the 152 abducted in Kachia. Not one was to assess the damage in Giwa after another military misfire. Not one was to stand with the flood victims in Zaria. Not one was to confront the bandits in Kajuru. Instead, he flew to Kaduna for a wedding, shook hands, took photographs, and flew back to Abuja. Compare that to his attention to Lagos. In Lagos, Tinubu has commissioned the first 30 kilometres of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, a project estimated at over one trillion naira. In Lagos, he has rehabilitated the Third Mainland Bridge at a cost of 43 billion naira and built a 2.5 billion naira CCTV monitoring centre. In Lagos, he inaugurated the Red Line Rail, a 37-kilometre project costing over 135 million dollars. In Lagos, he commissioned CNG infrastructure in Ojota, part of a 100 billion naira national rollout, with four major projects in a single day. In Lagos, the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road, a project inherited from Buhari, was revoked and re-awarded at a higher cost, while the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway received 43 billion naira for phase two. Lagos is where the president's heart beats. Kaduna is where his promises go to die. What is he coming to promise again? Will he promise to rebuild Tudun Biri, a resettlement scheme that was already completed and commissioned in January 2026, months before his campaign flag-off? Will he promise to complete the Abuja-Kaduna road that his administration revoked, re-awarded at 752 billion naira, and now claims will be finished by November 2026, just in time for the election?
Petrol before the FG’s price discount: ₦1,400/litre. With the discount: ₦1,350/litre. How is a ₦50 price reduction a fuel subsidy? Use your head! The FG hasn’t brought back fuel subsidy. Subsidy is gone for ever! What we have now is a temporary fuel discount.
I will soon delete that app too, alongside Snapchat. If there is one app that brainwashes young people through unhealthy competition, comparisons and agendas, then Instagram is one of them. The algorithm messes with people’s brains and distorts their psyche, yet they don’t realise it.
Officially deleted instagram. An inherently female app. Zero benefit.
It is rather amusing to think that people have called you a terrorist, a jihadist, a bigot, frame you as a fundamentalist, an extremist, and even worse, yet you have allowed all of it to pass without the same sense of indignation, and it is simply because of their type of names, you know you need to be very careful. Don’t get me wrong, you are absolutely within your rights to seek justice whenever you believe you have been wronged (even though I don't believe this it). But I cannot help but see this as another example of a mentality that has become far too common in the country, the belief that northerners are somehow inferior, incapable of understanding their rights, and therefore easier to intimidate or bully. What makes it even more troubling is that, in many instances, northerners will still defend the very people who treat them this way simply because those individuals are privileged, influential, or powerful. We have, unfortunately, cultivated a culture in which some people revere those who exercise power over them rather than question the structures that enable such treatment. We did not see this same energy when people with certain names, different from ours, called you all those things. Why? Because you know very well that them no born any northerner well, especially the one in power to speak to BULLY their own people that way without facing fierce resistance. They would defend their own with such conviction and such a thunderous voice that neither you, nor those you seek to impress, would be able to ignore it. And this is not just about Bashir Ahmad. It is unfortunate that Bashir is also participating in this pattern, but the problem goes far beyond him. It extends to all institutions and all people in positions of power. As a northerner, you can be arrested simply for calling out an SA, and most times nothing happens because the system assumes you have neither the influence, the connections, or the voice to challenge it. Unless, of course, you happen to be privileged yourself. And it is for this same reason our people in the north can be kidnapped on the very same week people from other regions are kidnapped, yet resources will be mobilised to rescue those elsewhere while our own people are left behind to endure their misery. And the underlying assumption seems to be, what can you do about it? Absolutely nothing. The North MUST wake up. We must stop normalising humiliation, stop worshipping power, stop treating privilege as a substitute for justice, and stop believing that because someone is influential, we must tolerate whatever they choose to do to us.

Hmmm, this is very funny, wallahi. The same Bashir whom Southerners called by so many names and subjected to all kinds of insults the same man who served as an SA for a good eight years and faced countless insults from Southerners, yet remained silent because, Southerners are educated while Northerners are illiterate. The same man who responded to so many insults from Southerners here on X with soft and respectful words, trying to explain himself without offending them. But now, when it comes to Northerners, he wants to use them as a scapegoat. Hhhh! Do you want people to start calling you and begging you to say, “Sorry, please forgive her,” or what? At this point, people can clearly see how Northerners are being underrated and treated as if they are illiterate and cannot stand up for themselves. But what is the real reason behind this? You are bringing up a post from 2020 as evidence, while there have been more recent attacks from Southerners that were even worse than this, yet you failed to take action because, they’re not your mates. Continue…

@LadiSpeaks APC dey loot Nigeria, you dey loot Tweets... Na wa ooh
This is the kind of "opposition" Nigerians love. Sue the presidency in a court that is under the authority of the Chief Justice who is appointed by the presidency. 1,000 motion, 0 movement. If you tell them that they'd get a much bigger result if they came out in numbers and blockaded the US embassy in Abuja like the Nigeriens did the French embassy in Niamey 3 years ago, they'll tell you "Why don't you come to Nigeria and do it yourself? CIA man!" Make una continue to dey whine una selves. Continue to "hold your leaders accountable" by suing them in Kekere-Ekun's court, and "voting them out" with an INEC that receives funding from the US government under a commissioner that is an APC member. And when it doesn't work, do it again. If it didn't work the first 569,000 times you already did it, try it another 697,000,000 times. When you're reaching the end of the 55 years you are statically likely to survive as a Nigerian and you're finally realising nothing has changed, instead of telling your kids to do the opposite of what you did, tell them "nIgEriA iS cUrSed, dO aNythInG yOu cAn tO mOvE tO cAnaDa". Very wise people, Nigerians. 🥲
First thing tomorrow morning, we will file a lawsuit at the federal high court in Lagos to challenge this constitutional breach. Except we all agree the law no longer rules in Nigeria.
Egbon Bayo stop capping and respect the Nigerian people who pay your bills ! The Presidency announced on August 30 that President Bola Tinubu was leaving Nigeria for a three-week annual vacation in Europe. London was named as his first stop, and Nigerians were told he would return home after the working vacation. That three-week period expired. On September 21, the Presidency announced that the President had extended his stay by “a few days” and would return “at the weekend.” The weekend came and went. The promise then changed to “this week.” We need explanations not insults !!! When a government announces one timeline, extends it, misses its own deadline and then offers another vague promise, Nigerians have every right to ask what changed. They have every right to ask who made the decision and who is accountable for it. Instead of answering those basic questions, you have characteristically reached for ridicule. “the President does not need to be physically present in Abuja to do his job in the digital age” We’ve heard this argument before and it didn’t end well… It is a distraction. Nigerians did not ask whether a President can send instructions from abroad. They asked why the return dates keep changing, when the President will actually return, and what constitutional arrangement governs an absence that has now gone beyond the period originally announced. Section 145 of the Constitution provides that when the President is proceeding on vacation or is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office, he is to transmit a written declaration to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Was that declaration transmitted? If it was, the Presidency should say so plainly. If it was not, the Presidency should explain the legal basis for the arrangement you are defending. The parallels with the Yar’Adua era are therefore impossible to ignore and the issue is not that the two situations are identical. The issue is the familiar official script: describe the absence as routine, offer categorical reassurance, insist that the President can continue governing from abroad and dismiss those asking for clear institutional answers. During the Yar’Adua crisis, Nigerians were told that the President could continue to govern from outside the country. Today, they are told that the President is on a “working vacation,” is “hale and hearty” (Aondooaka the AGF actually used that exact phrase back then! ) and does not need to be physically present in Abuja in the digital age. The same reflex for unaccountability to the Nigerian people has not changed and it must. In both cases, slogans and assurances are being used to fill the space where Nigerians deserve a firm timeline, a transparent constitutional arrangement and direct accountability. “L “Hale and hearty” is not a return date. A list of meetings is not a constitutional answer. And an insult from a spokesperson is not a briefing. We are the ones paying his bills and should be kept abreast of what our employee is doing …if it feels like it’s beneath him then he should resign to private life and do as he pleases with his time and resources! No one is arguing that the President has no right to take leave. The issue is whether the Presidency can give Nigerians a straight answer about the length of that leave, the reason for the extension and the authority under which government is being conducted. The Presidency is not a private itinerary. It is a public office. If the President is working, tell Nigerians what decisions he has taken. If his stay has been extended, give the reason and a definite return date. If the constitutional notice was transmitted, confirm it. What Nigerians do not need is to be scolded for asking questions that the government should have answered without being pushed. Your job is to provide clarity, not to insult citizens who demand it. Accountability can’t be sent on vacation. Where is he ?!
President Tinubu is hale and hearty Nigeria’s President is hale and hearty. He has been on a working vacation, which he is perfectly entitled to. In this digital age, he does not need to be physically present in Abuja to do the work for which he was elected in 2023. And we
But how do you even convince a man who had lived in Nigeria in 2022 that Buhari was not a saint? A man paid subsidy for his 8 years, managed to borrow ₦75.26 trillion between 2015 and 2023, sold fuel for 210 Naira as the highest price and cement for 4,500. The same man, while paying subsidy, constructed and completed 8,352.94 kilometres of roads and intervened in the rehabilitation of over 13,000 kilometres of the federal road network. He even flagged off programmes like the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), N-Power and National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP). He even increased the minimum monthly salary from ₦18,000 to ₦30,000. Mind you, his administration is considered the worst since the inception of the 4th Republic. I keep saying it: I have never imagined that a day will come when we will have to miss Buhari this much. I am Ekene Aninze, Esq.
Again why is the presidential Jet traced to Serbia? What is happening in Serbia?
