Lidetu Ayalew, one of Ethiopias reknowned politician, says that, through his conversations with people in Abiy’s circles, he has learned how Abiy explains his plans during small meetings with his inner circle. Lidetu explains, Abiy’s plan goes something like this: “First, we will completely eradicate all opposition in #Ethiopia. After that, we will capture #Asmara, install a puppet government in #Eritrea, and take over #Assab.” The preparations for installing such a puppet government are already underway, as we can see it in #AddisAbaba. But Abiy's plans do not end there: Abiy's tells his inner circile: “We will then go and capture #Khartoum (#Sudan) and install another puppet government. After that, Ethiopia will enjoy peace for generations.” This is how Abiy explains his plans in smaller meetings, and there are people listening to him intently and applauding to this fantasy. Abiy is completely detached from reality. He is a fantasist and delusional. How can the leader of a country speak like this? We must therefore ask ourselves: how has this man been able to lead Ethiopia for so long? I have never been embarrassed to be Ethiopian, but I am ashamed of being Ethiopian because Abiy Ahmed is the leader of my country.

AMERICAN ETHIOPIAN PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE (AEPAC) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CALL FOR URGENT U.S. DIPLOMATIC ACTION ON THE KILLINGS OF CHRISTIAN CIVILIANS AND CLERGY IN ETHIOPIA The American Ethiopian Public Affairs Committee (AEPAC) expresses its profound alarm over continued reports of the killings and abductions of Christian civilians and attacks affecting clergy in Shirka and Honkolo Wabe districts of Arsi Zone, eastern Ethiopia, approximately 170 kilometers from Addis Ababa. According to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church's report, the latest incidents occurred on October 17, 2026 (Tikimt 7, 2019 E.C.) . These recurring incidents underscore the urgent need for effective civilian protection, credible investigations, and decisive action to prevent further loss of life. The Ethiopian government has a fundamental responsibility to protect its citizens, safeguard religious communities and places of worship, and ensure that those responsible for criminal acts are held accountable. These tragedies must not become normalized, and the suffering of affected communities must not be met with indifference. We specifically call on U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to recognize that responding to these reports is both a moral imperative and a serious diplomatic responsibility. Their silence in the face of recurring reports of deadly violence is difficult to reconcile with their stated commitments to human rights, religious freedom, civilian protection, and the prevention of atrocities. International engagement must come before a crisis becomes irreversible—not after a nation has been devastated by violence that timely action might have helped prevent. We therefore call on the United States and the wider international community to move beyond expressions of concern and pursue sustained diplomatic engagement, measurable civilian-protection commitments, and accountability. The Ethiopian government must be pressed to fulfill its responsibility to protect all citizens, regardless of religious or ethnic identity. Thousands were taken as sexual slaves and are still being held captive to this day. Old women were raped and killed along escape routes. The scale of the slaughter was so enormous that evidence of it could be seen from space. Satellite imagery analyzed by Yale’s Humanitarian Research Lab identified multiple clusters of objects consistent with human bodies across El Fasher, including along roads used by civilians trying to escape. Piles of bodies! Visible from satellites orbiting hundreds of kilometres above the Earth. More than 14 million Sudanese have been displaced by this war. And while Sudanese civilians are being slaughtered, tortured, raped and driven from their homes, Sudan’s gold continues moving through regional networks towards Dubai. The Sudanese are bleeding.
