We criticize ourselves and our bodies far too often. Our bodies react to what we going through. Trauma affects our bodies and mind in a very unique and often terrible way. A very good book that illustrates this beautifully is “The body keeps the score” by Bessel van der Kolk.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is valid medical, psychiatric disorder. Adults can also have ADHD. Many people with ADHD have at least some symptoms of poor attention, some symptoms of hyperactivity and some symptoms of of impulsivity. Shaunpyper.com

We don’t acknowledge our traumas as much as we should. We keep them hidden, cast away from the judgmental view of society. We are taught to “suck it up” “get over it” “don’t cry in-front of people”. We therefore don’t always realize we have been through a trauma.
