If we lose, we're losing to the price of groceries. And if so, then there's nothing we could have done. UK flipped to Labour after the pandemic inflation happened under the Cons watch. None of this is policy or character based. Because if it were, then I would lose my mind.

Had a coworker that was a grandmother - worked there for 30 years. Always worked late. Was a subject matter expert. Took care of two grandchildren on her own. She was laid off after our company was acquired. Permanently radicalized me. You are just a number to them.

I definitely don't. My kid's going to grow up and not be able to afford a starter home at all. Selfishly, I would love for her to stay home a little after 18 years, but how will she start a family of her own? Multi-generational housing will come back as being a thing, I guess.

The introduction of smart phones kind of demarcated the last significant cultural/technological shift we had. The internet pre-smartphone was WAAAAY different. I imagine that's what makes that time interesting for them.

I failed Calculus 1 five times in college! I eventually passed, got my degree and got my first job in the field. Persistence eventually wins. It is impossible to get worse at something you repeat over and over again. 😀

I fucking hate the 60s Rudolph movie. It's the one Christmas movie I won't let my young daughter see. His dad is verbally abusive, the community treats him like garbage, and they only stop when Rudolph can provide a valuable service.
