Very low liquidity in $cl $oil #oott futs today. Week after MDW + early summer doldrums lunchtime + OPEC headlines zipping around ➡️ prices gapping 20-30c at a time over past hour

$CL sanctions fueled rally continuing from late last week into Sunday open so far. Recent history has shown these generally have more bark than bite but that realization takes some time. A bit of extra sector-wide fuel from NG rally should help push for $80 this week. #oott #oil

Fairly clean $cl $wti #oott action this week, respecting the multi-day trend lines with clear breaks once they happened. Maybe just a slow summer vacay week but for now consolidating in this $80-85ish range after some big trendy moves to start the year. POC since 7/1 $83.40

$cl $wti $oil spent all early morning testing the upper end of a sizeable consolidation area from mid Dec to mid Jan. Gonna call it roughly 71.5 to 73.5 bc it’s big and ugly and has lots of hairs sticking out of it. Composite POC for that time frame was ~$72.7 (12.12.23-1.22.24).

$cl $wti $oil looking very ugly on the charts following the big 75.80 area support break this morning. Yet still in backwardation all the way out to Mar25 expiry. Spreads much tighter today w/ the selloff and OPEC news but will we end up flipping back to contango? #oott

Not lol anymore. The Blinken Ukraine NATO news had been floating around all morning but got more traction after 1pm and served as the catalyst for moves in oil #oott and equities $es. This administration is deliberately working to kick off WW3 just to save their reelection bids.

Crude feeling a little heavy today (May’24 $85.61 aotw) on the heels of a very nice run from $72 in early Feb. $86-$86.20 was an interesting area of contention in Sept & Oct of last year. Looking for a check back down to $83 area to meet 13dma over next few days $wti #oott $cl

🧀 city on crude #oil #oott $wti $cl The longer this stays contained, the more explosive the breakout will be. Either above $74 or below LOD yday $71. My guess is lower - the bulls missed their chance to break topside earlier this afternoon

Lol well that was a scary reminder to avoid #opec announcement chaos - I use bracketed orders on all my trades but the extra 1mm cut agreement spike was so sharp that the system didn’t have time to put the stops in. Trading is not for the faint of heart $wti $cl #oott
