I use the “mom test” on stuff like this. My mom watches every game. Knows the main players on the Ravens and less so across the league. She’s the average fan. If I mentioned Nnamdi Madabuike to her, she would not immediately know who he is. If I reminded her, he’s the guy with the neck injury who missed last year, she would remember that he exists but that’s it.

My favorite is Great Leads (a slightly more modern, applied version of Breakthrough Advertising). Influence by Robert Cialdini isn’t technically a copywriting book, but it’ll give you more value than just about anything else. Happy to share more, I’ve got a book shelf full of them.

Solution aware audience who’s highly sophisticated. They’ve “tried it all.” Typically low AOV; they’ll buy one and see if it works. Expect results right away so high refund rate and don’t typically buy again or stay on subscription for long. Obviously a huge TAM and you can get a lot of people to try, but not many people to stick.

1) he also won near unanimous MVP under Roman in 2023. 2) 2019 Lamar didn’t play from behind often bc they beat the shit out of everyone. 3) Lamar was better than Herbert in 2020 and 2022 (mediocre seasons by your measure). 4) if you want to bring up performance vs good teams, Herbert is one of the worst QBs against playoff teams.
