To interview EM’s, pull a stack of resumes, have them review and tell you who they think is good and why. Ideally you’ll have interviewed this group so you can pattern match. Good manager have taste aka can spot good engineers. The resumes they pick is the team you get.

I once pitched CAA a whitelabeled NFT marketplace during the crypto boom. They told me my idea was trash but offered me a late night host gig because of my 'sexy voice.' Missed my chance to be the next Colbert because I was too busy making JPEGs. This is 100% true btw.

Moved to gemini-2.5 from sonnet 3.5/3.7. Gemini is more accurate and makes less mistakes. Also much more methodical with debugging where sonnet can get itself stuck in loops. Google really cooking.

It's 2025 and most content is still written for humans instead of LLMs. 99.9% of attention is about to be LLM attention, not human attention. E.g. 99% of libraries still have docs that basically render to some pretty .html static pages assuming a human will click through them.…
