The capacity auction is merely a residual. It’s up to each LSE to ensure they have enough long term contracted to not have exposure to this vol or be prepared for it. Where was the consternation when prices were in the gutter the last 15 years? You can’t have it both ways.
When Aurora first started producing analysis for US markets, they definitely had a quality advantage to their competition. Lately all that I see from them is poor analysis, old data, and a reliance on little competition. How is this space always turning over terrible companies?
