TIL about in-memory python asynchronous event queues and their advantage over traditional event systems like Kafka / RabbitMQ.
Pros:
1. < 10ms latency.
2. Everything at a single place.
Cons:
1. No Data Retention.
2. Difficult to work with distributed codebase.
Docker Desktop makes working with containers on windows so fast. Found it faster than Podman for some reason.

A founder pitched an AI dating app. The investor agreed to invest only if he found his match.

A friend suggested me a stock once which bumped 70% within a quarter.
But now, every time we meet he ask me party for the stock gains I got because of him.
I have spent more on thanking him than I actually realised from that stock :(
There’s no better teacher than debugging a broken piece of code in production.
This morning received a call at 7am about a prod issue. Released a fix in under 30 mins. The team which raised the issue will recheck in evening.
Learnings: Don’t take morning calls.
At my day job when the FE dev is not available, I pick up low hanging FE tasks too.
With the help of AI tools, it takes me 3x less efforts as compared to my BE tasks.
Has anyone experienced vice-versa too?

Was trying to replicate a prod issue locally which involved getting the same event consumed via two different KAFKA partitions with no hashing key.
The default partitioner approach was so random. As a last resort had to hardcode partitions to replicate the issue :(
A domain on which I can host my portfolio as well as my side projects. Something generic enough that suits both the use cases good enough.
