@inverily Shakespeare made up words not by first teaching them to the audience but just by vibes. And the audience understands the vibe. Its just this wonderful crazy soup you can build in any way you want and expect to be understood to some extent.

@inverily Subject-Object-Verb? Verb-Subject-Object? Most English sentences can be pasted in absolutely any order- the man has a red coat. A red coat, has the man. Coat, red, man. Man, coat, red. All understandable.

@revengeseekerzz @VickiVictrola Lols. I quite like it too. No idea where I got it from. I abandoned this account for like 15 years, when I came back to it it was left over from when I started it in 2010.

@revengeseekerzz @VickiVictrola Although in like the last 10 years we've started having toilets with this button. As it's usually said, pee flush/shit flush

@revengeseekerzz @VickiVictrola How does it compare to our low-flow toilets? In the US toilets used to use somewhere between 4 and 7 gallons per flush, in 1992 we legislated all new toilets have to be 1.28 gallons per flush.

@PaulaCScot @lobsterbooty Well you're you, I'm me, and I'm not. Lots to focus on raising a toddler, I'm not stressed that we don't scrub out the master bedroom's private bath as often as we did before she was born. More important things to worry about. It's cute that you're so focused on that though.

@ApexSeeker_ Not really my PC as a whole, but one of the components in it. My RTX 5090. At least my most expensive thing where the cost was upfront. In terms of total money spent our 2 year old.

@PaulaCScot @lobsterbooty Why would I need permission? Although I expected a thank you for educating you on your misconceptions about American electrical systems. No idea where a belief that we can't run kettles came from 🤣

@PaulaCScot @lobsterbooty Oh, and most UK hair dryers aren't earthed either. They have a dummy, non-conductive/plastic earth pin just to open the shutters in the plug . Here's a UK hair dryer co.pany explaining why: blowandbarrel.co.uk/blog/why-hair-…

@PaulaCScot @lobsterbooty "can't boil a kettle"? We don't often own a kettle because we don't drink tea. My wife happens to drink tea. Here's our electric kettle boiling away. Usually lives in the kitchen but I put it in the bathroom for funsies.

@PaulaCScot @lobsterbooty At the very least you should do the absolute minimum due diligence of having a clue how the system works before you shout off about it.

@PaulaCScot @lobsterbooty Also, the waiting to fill up with steam is... Why it's required to be a GFCI socket. It disconnects the circuit with 5 milliamps of current leak. The whole thing happens in 25 milliseconds with current leakage of 10% what a computers USB port provides.

@Pointless_Berk @RaraSensei Did that make you feel like a big boy? Making fun of dead children? No wonder every bit of foreign clay you guys have owned has thrown you out.

@horsemankukka @solisvogel @axiochrono The FCC is the American telecommunications regulator. The EU is the one who allows prioritization. I'm not saying the US is right btw, I can see a case for allowing prioritization. I was just responding to you saying prioritization wasn't part of the net neutrality fight. It was.

@TheExceptionGG @coaiecrete No, legitimately, thank YOU. I love going on little scavenger hunts for knowledge, and now one of the facts I'll forever have buried in the back of my mind is that the CBC DC bureau is two blocks from the white house.

@payer_single @ArmandDoma They didn't recover from the 2008 financial crisis in the same way the other nordics have. They're the only Nordic that uses the Euro, so the others could devalue their currency to drive up exports to restart their economies, finland could not. Same spending from a smaller pie.
