@michelle_z21331 @allison_whiter 那时的伽马刀在中国算是先进的，他托了关系去上海找专家开的。
Bleeding question for the American healthcare system 🏥 Imagine you walk into a restaurant. You ask for a menu. The waiter smiles: "There are no prices. Eat first." You finish eating. You ask for the bill. The waiter says: "We cannot tell you. Go home." Three months later, an envelope arrives in your mailbox: - Bread basket: $480.00 - Water glass rental fee: $210.00 - Out-of-network chef who walked past your table for four seconds: $1,650.00 TOTAL DUE: $2,340.00. This sounds like a dystopian comedy sketch. Except it is literally how going to the hospital works in the United States. You can ask five different doctors, "How much will this cost?", and all five will look at you with genuine mystery, like you just asked them the location of Atlantis. Nobody knows! The hospital does not know! The insurance company does not know! The price is decided by a magical dice roll three months after you leave. Why is healthcare the only industry in the free world where you buy a product with zero idea of the price tag? 🎲💸
Earlier today I recvd a medical bill from a recent hospitalization in the amount of $42,700. I assumed they didn’t have my insurance info, so I called the office. As soon as the person in billing asked me to verify my “birf date” I knew it was going to be a long call. 🙄 She went on to tell me they had my insurance info and submitted a claim on 9/19 but it was denied with no reason given for the denial. Insurance has to give a reason for denied claims. So I hung up and called my insurance. I was told by insurance that they had not recvd any claims from that specialist, and that they would call the specialist themselves. I told her, “hold on, this is going to be a conference call between the three of us.” She called and was told by that same person in the billing dept that they hadn’t yet submitted a claim. I spoke up and said “but you told me you had and it was denied”. She was caught completely off guard and said she didn’t realize it was a three-way call. Was this specialist trying to scam me?
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR EVERYBODY BECAUSE I’M GENUINELY CONFUSED… If we’re paying taxes, but that doesn’t guarantee clean water, safe food, a roof over our heads, or access to healthcare. THEN WHAT THE F*CK ARE WE PAYING FOR? at some point, we have to stop accepting this as NORMAL. Something has to change. AND IT’S GOING TO TAKE ALL OF US.
A guy has charged his $1,100 iPhone to 100% every single night for 3 years. Plug it in at 11pm. Sleep. Unplug at 7am. Same routine, 1,095 nights in a row. Last month his phone started dying at 30%. Shutting off in the middle of calls. Dropping to 15% the second he opened Maps. He was carrying a charger in his bag, his car, and his desk drawer. He'd already decided: "It's old. Time to upgrade." He was about to spend $1,100 on a brand new phone. Then a friend came over for dinner. An ex-Apple Genius Bar technician who spent 4 years diagnosing over 100 dying iPhones a month. He glanced at the phone for about 10 seconds and said: "Don't buy anything yet. This is fixable. And you've been making the same mistake I watched thousands of customers make." Here's everything he showed him 🧵
