A lawyer’s natural habitat is 47 browser tabs, cold coffee, and one document named final for no reason.

Lawyers: Your employees should be locked out of your practice management platform until they submit their time entries. Too many small firms I talk to have to chase down their lawyers, paralegals and case managers to submit time. AI time entries are great - but UGH software needs to solve humans not submitting their time entries for weeks and slowing down the invoicing process. p.s. yes - we built @ClaspLegal so you can lock out each employee until they submit their time entries from the week before. and yes it also drafts and creates the time entries with AI so all your employees have to do is click "approve". drop me a line over DM or payton@ClaspLegal and I'll send you our platform overview video that shows how it works.

for small law firms and solos to break through the $2–5m gross billable range, you usually have to make a $90k tradeoff that adds complexity to your practice — hire cheap labor to handle admin so you can bill more hours at your actual rate. but hiring is hit or miss. and more headcount = more headaches: payroll, taxes, management. meanwhile the admin work still has to get done. —— so what does “admin” actually look like? - manually tagging emails to the right case - manually sending trust requests + invoices - manually following up with clients during intake - manually tracking filing dates in 2026, software should just DO this. —— and solos benefit from that way more than big firms do. big firms can afford to hire and manage admin teams - small firms can’t. software is the equalizer - but none of it is built for smalls and solos. I built @ClaspLegal so small firms have a PMS that they feel like is built for them and so they don’t have to hire an admin at $90k/year. —— P.s Yes - if does all of those admin tasks automatically within the product so smalls can scale without hiring. drop me a line over DM or payton@ClaspLegal.com and I’ll send you a 3 min overview of Clasp and how we help small firms

Interesting stat for small law firms: According to the annual Legal Trends for Solo and Small Law Firms report published by @goclio : 71% of solos/small firms adopted AI, but only about a 1/3 of them saw MORE revenue. --- The real missed revenue opportunity for small firms isn't in the amount of legal work getting done - it's about cutting out the old practice management software your firm runs on. Here's the contrarian part: The report says firms with high AI use often don't earn more. Of course they don't. AI made the 20% of your day that was already fast SLIGHTLY faster. AI did nothing to the 40% you lose shuffling work between six tabs. --- I spent 7 months as a case manager for a firm that used MyCase before I built software. Here's where the day actually went (Let me know if your firm is the same): 1. The Inbox tax (5hr/week) I lived in gmail with a MyCase plugin, manually tagging the lead attorney's emails to the right case. Dozens every day. 2. Reconciling trust payments (2hr/week) Clients would pay via a public link on our firm's website, then I'd reconcile who actually paid against a spreadsheet and hand-tag each one to a case 3. Rebuilding case checklists (4hr/week) Every time a case moved to a new stage, I rebuilt the same task list from memory. same 8 tasks, over and over for each stage.. 4. The intake re-type (1hr/week) Client fills out the intake form. then i retype all of it into the case. same data, twice, by hand. ....the list goes on save this if you're auditing your own week and where you're loosing time in your small firm. p.s. this is exactly why i built @ClaspLegal . Many of our customers come to us with these compalints about their case management software. We couldn't be happier to show them that these revenue costing problems are now solved. Anyways - DO the audit and see where you're firm could be increasing revenue. (thank you to Clio for publishing these great resources for the industry).

Lawyers: What's the one task you do every week that you're pretty sure a computer should be doing for you by now? I asked 49 firms this and these were their answers. -- While it's a small sample size, I think the results is interesting because none of this is AI related. This is all operations and practice management related. In 2026, why are law firms still having to: a) Chase down clients to top up trust accounts b) Manually write time entries at the end of the day c) Manually tag emails to cases I think it's because the legal tech industry has taken their eyes off the ball of practice management and focused heavily on AI drafting, research, etc. Legacy products like Clio are doing $500m/year and haven't adapted their product in over 20 years. p.s. yes, law firms that have made the switch to @ClaspLegal spend zero time on any of these tasks that a computer should be doing
