One of the more impressive tornado videos we've received in my time here. This from TJ Second in Union City. Looks like a strong, multi-vortex tornado. #MIWx @wwmtnews @NWSIWX

The probability of seeing heavy to significant snowfall totals continues to increase for areas along and north of I-40. On the other hand, the concerning threat of seeing crippling ice accumulations (0.75”+) across far south Arkansas is also increasing. That leaves us in a tough spot here in central Arkansas. Could be a bunch of sleet (ice pellets) before we transition to snow. #arwx #Arkansas

This is very concerning. Instead of going through a normal eyewall replacement cycle, which would’ve at least temporarily weakened her winds, Melissa is now completing an Eyewall Merger. This is where the outer eyewall combines with the inner one to create a stronger, more symmetrical core, with minimal disruption to the Hurricane’s current strength. Now that this merger is nearing completion, Melissa has restarted intensification. The latest advisory from the NHC just lowered the storm’s ear-popping central pressure to a new low of 933 mbar, as confirmed by the Hurricane Hunters. At this point, Melissa may be fully equipped to try and challenge the limits of how strong a Hurricane can become in this part of the world.

Not good. The newest version of our in-house model indicates a broken like of supercells from central into northeast Arkansas. While this will evolve, the threat for severe storms producing tornadoes is very possible. Have a way to receive warnings. #ARWX #ARStormTeam
