@DisabledPartyIE @SECireland This is critical to empower students who require additional support to strive on an equal basis for independence. The current system does not address individual students challenges or compare well with other jurisdictions. It is blatantly discriminatory in our experience.
#Article19 UNCRPD sets out the rights of People with Disabilities to be able to live independently - what PRACTICAL changes have been introduced into Irish Building Standards to make housing accessible for all? Simple changes at the design stage could achieve these requirements
Children with #Scoliosis need to be prioritised for treatment to improve their quality of life. The resources can be provided but apparently the political will isn't. @MedCouncilIRL should be engaged with along with @IHCA_IE to develop a roadmap to resolve the impasse that exists
Disabled people should not be restricted from spontaneous travel on rail, bus, taxi or hackneys. All buses, private & public must be fully accessible, all taxis & hackneys to be wheelchair accessible. Retrofitting of railway infrastructure to remove barriers to immediate travel

These astonishing figures are a direct result of the HSE breaking the law and being found out by the High Court in doing so. They ignored all the warnings and the delays and outcomes for children have been seriously impactful.

@AnneRabbitte I sincerely hope the online application process is accessible for blind users. In the last year we had significant problems with it for our daughter, which resulted in an expensive in person trip to Cork, where the staff were brilliant but it should not have been necessary.

The disability allowance application process when dom. care ceases due to age with lifelong conditions is an example of this.

These astonishing figures are a direct result of the HSE breaking the law and being found out by the High Court in doing so. They ignored all the warnings and the delays and outcomes for children have been seriously impactful.

@Fiona_Kildare Fiona, is there any chance an extension would be granted? It’s an extremely tight turn around. There have been significant public consultations back-to-back lately. NDIS; Green Paper; now UNCRPD. It takes time to consult stakeholders and draft a coherent submission. Thanks.
@AnneRabbitte I sincerely hope the online application process is accessible for blind users. In the last year we had significant problems with it for our daughter, which resulted in an expensive in person trip to Cork, where the staff were brilliant but it should not have been necessary.

The disability allowance application process when dom. care ceases due to age with lifelong conditions is an example of this.

Protests have been taking place in Dublin, Cork and Limerick today, calling for urgent reform of eating disorder services. The campaign was launched by Dublin mother, Amy Hanley, who faced a number of obstacles accessing treatment for her daughter. @maireadcleary7
