Declaring a #ClimateEmergency in 2019 was the first step. Signing the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty in 2002 was next. In 2024 #ottawa needs to stop giving a platform for fossil fuel companies in our arenas and buses. Together let’s send a message to #StoptheGreenwashing.

Excellent news for the Rosebud. Residents with @savetherosebud have worked tirelessly for years, with their own time and money, to prevent the construction of a racetrack in a pristine riparian area. This is wonderful and hopefully the end of this destructive project #abpoli

@OSEAN_Ottawa I use colour newspaper comics, socks, t-shirts, and the plain paper that comes in everything you order online these days can be decorated. Most glitter is plastic & not recyclable -- make your own glitter out of cornstarch & water!
@ForourkidsO And a lot of them have the time and energy (and experience from previous activism - feminist, civil rights and environmental movements starting as early as the 50s and 60s).
Equally we should acknowledge the work of older Canadians who very much understand the threat of climate change and are working to bring about change ie @OttawaSCAN @Gasp4Change and if there are any others please step up and introduce yourselves!
Getting older Canadians to act on climate is important for our (grand)kids. Next time you call or see your parents or grandparents ask them how you can support them to get involved and make change.
