NIQ prices IPO at $21 per share, raising $1.05 billion NIQ Global Intelligence plc announced the pricing of its initial public offering at $21.00 per ordinary share for 50,000,000 shares, according to a company statement. The offering is expected to raise $1.05 billion. Underwriters have a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 7,500,000 ordinary shares from a selling shareholder at the offering price, minus underwriting discounts and commissions. The consumer intelligence company’s ordinary shares are expected to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on July 23, 2025, under the ticker symbol NYSE: NIQ. The offering is expected to close on July 24, 2025, subject to customary closing conditions. NIQ plans to use net proceeds from the offering, along with available cash, to repay amounts outstanding under its revolving credit facility and a portion of amounts outstanding under its US term loan facility. Any remaining net proceeds will be used for working capital and general corporate purposes. The company will not receive proceeds from shares sold by the selling shareholder. J.P. Morgan, BofA Securities, UBS Investment Bank, Barclays and RBC Capital Markets are serving as joint lead book-running managers. Citigroup, Wells Fargo Securities, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank Securities, BMO Capital Markets and KKR are also acting as joint book-running managers. The Securities and Exchange Commission declared the registration statement on Form S-1 effective on July 22, 2025. NIQ describes itself as a consumer intelligence company that combined with GfK in 2023, with operations spanning over 90 countries.

Trump announces ‘massive’ trade deal with Japan, tariff rate set at 15% U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said his administration had completed a “massive deal” with Japan, which will see the Asian country subject to a 15% tariff on exports. Trump said that Japan will invest $550 billion into the U.S., of which the U.S. will “receive 90% of the Profits.” “Japan will open their Country to Trade including Cars and Trucks, Rice and certain other Agricultural Products, and other things. Japan will pay Reciprocal Tariffs to the United States of 15%,” Trump said in a social media post. Announcement of the deal comes shortly after reports said Japan’s top trade negotiator, Ryosei Akazawa, met Trump in the White House on Tuesday. While the 15% tariff is lower than the 25% initially outlined by Trump, it still goes against Tokyo’s earlier demands that Japan be exempt from all U.S. tariffs. The 15% levy is likely to take effect from August 1, when Trump’s other reciprocal tariffs against major economies are set to take effect. Uncertainty over a Japan-U.S. trade deal had risen this week, especially after Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party suffered a bruising loss in upper house elections held over the weekend. It was not immediately clear whether Trump’s 15% tariff on Japan will be compounded with his 25% levy on automobiles and 50% tariff on steel. Tariffs on the two sectors were a major point of contention for Tokyo, given that they are among the country’s largest exports to the United States.

Trump Media Buys $2 Billion in Bitcoin for Crypto Treasury Plan Trump Media & Technology Group Corp., the firm behind Truth Social, has acquired about $2 billion in Bitcoin and related securities as part of its previously announced plan to become a crypto treasury company. In addition, about $300 million in capital was allocated to an options acquisition strategy for Bitcoin-related securities, the company said in a statement Monday. Trump Media plans to continue acquiring Bitcoin and Bitcoin-related assets and to convert its options into Bitcoin, depending on market conditions. In May, Trump Media joined the scores of companies emulating the crypto treasury strategy pioneered by Michael Saylor’s Strategy. It’s not the only company linked to the President Donald Trump’s family that has jumped to the Bitcoin treasury play. PSQ Holdings, a firm that counts Donald Trump Jr. as a board member, also announced plans to explore a digital asset treasury strategy. “These assets help ensure our company’s financial freedom, help protect us against discrimination by financial institutions, and will create synergies with the utility token we’re planning to introduce across the Truth Social ecosphere,” said Devin Nunes, chief executive officer and president of Trump Media, in the press release. The Sarasota, Florida-based company said it will also use its Bitcoin and Bitcoin-related securities to generate revenue and potentially “acquire additional crypto assets.” Shares of Trump Media jumped more then 7% in pre-market trading following the announcement. The stock has slumped around 45% so far this year.
