@NewnhamTony @shaahin_a No such thing a "monetary sovereignty" that is completely made up term. Gov is a "Monetary designator" of the unit of account for its payment system. Listen to Mosler and delete those words from your vocabulary.

@scientificecon Central banks settle payments, set their policy rate, and give collateralized loans (including interest for duration of loan) to banks and regulatory oversight. It's not that complicated. They have no power to "print" fund gov, deficit spend or give unsecured loans.

@DavidMcNab17 You are complaining about socialism. Not neoliberalism. $350 trillion of debt is owed to the few savers who funded Gov plus perpetual interest. Thry not from Mars. That is not Neoliberalism (Limited gov and fiscal responsibility.) We need neoliberalism or we are all doomed.

@DavidMcNab17 What are you talking about? What austerity? U.S. debt is ~$40T and global debt ~$350T. Gov borrow by issuing bonds to investors. The $ used to buy those bonds must already exist in the private sector. government borrowing works exactly like household. You complain about socialism

@HormuzLetter Not a problem at all: by September, the EU Commission will have established three working groups, set up five coordination teams and published eight different strategy papers, joint communiqués and planning reports about the situation - we’ll be just fine!

@DavidMcNab17 ? Reserves settle claims Reserves under no circumstances fund gov. Its like saying a ruler that measures a meter of fabric creates the fabric it measures. You obviously don't know what a reserve is or what its function is. I suggest spending some time learning about Reserves.
