Browsing the new Player Career, realized I'd missed that Jao Ituka was back from injury LY. He put up a super fun Fr season (15ppg; 99+%ile at rim attack & transition frequency) in the MAAC ... he was maybe not fully recovered last season? Hope he's back in form at NIU this year

I mentioned that I was using @CFB_Data 's excellent "cbbd" API for the new Player Career feature - one handy implication is that the hoop-explorer "Export" feature for teams and players now has their "sourceId" so you can easily fuse their raw(ish) data with my processed data

Love this use of my (very naive) off-season predictions as the starting point for a human to fix! One of my longer term dreams is to crowd source a top 50 this way and then see how it compares to pure models

Since seeing @azmatlanba’s post, I was fascinated by measuring this for CBB, where added possessions impact shorter games even more. With major help from @ItsATerp_CBB and Hoop Explorer data, I built out the database. Will be sharing more correlations and findings soon!

PSA Two more hoop-explorer presets before I go on holiday :) split by month, and split by "SoS band" (these are the first splits with >2 categories). Poor Michigan went ice cold from 3 at the end there, but the "style" view suggests some opponent adjustments?

Small QoL improvement for hoop-explorer: the default team/player analysis config is now streamlined into preset options. To get the "old school" advanced view just hit the button far right. If there are presets you would find useful just let me know and I'll (try to) add them
