I just discovered that my roommate has been charging me MORE than her own rent for months, and the way I found out deserves its own Netflix documentary. Last year, I moved in with a girl I knew through work. We weren’t best friends, but we’d always gotten along, so sharing an apartment seemed like a reasonable idea. When we discussed expenses, she told me the rent was $2,400 a month. We agreed to split it equally, meaning I’d transfer her $1,200 every month, and she’d handle the payment to the landlord. I had no reason to question anything. She was the one communicating with the landlord, and I trusted that we were both paying our fair share. For months, everything seemed normal. Until yesterday, when someone knocked on our door and casually destroyed my entire understanding of my living situation. It was our landlord. And he was looking for my roommate because she was THREE MONTHS behind on rent. I laughed nervously and told him that couldn’t be right because I’d been sending her my share every single month. He looked at me like I’d just told him something completely unexpected. Then he said, “Your rent is $1,450 for the entire apartment.” I swear my brain stopped working.

You were right to say no. Your apartment is your home, and that threat is completely out of line

People are way too quick to turn one frustrated moment into a whole character judgment

I think most coaches and players can tell you that what Angel Reese demonstrates in this video is behavior normally addressed at the ELEMENTARY OR MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVELS. Stomping her feet, throwing her hands down, and walking toward the bench in frustration because her teammates
