Nice looking MCS associated with a low-pressure area (#90A) over the Arabian Sea today morning with some good outflow. Don't be deceived by the TC-like look though: there is no surface circulation associated with the system!

It is as I had feared. The next buoy observation, at 0803 UTC, reported a pressure of 900.3 mbar near the center (image credit: @ChatterjeeSohum). #Ragasa (#NandoPH) is currently a sub-900 mbar super #typhoon, and recent MW data shows that its ongoing ERC is already nearly over.

After struggling for several hours with northerly mid-level shear, #Ragasa (#NandoPH) has managed to wrap a vortical hot tower into the upshear quadrant. This will likely be the trigger for a round of very rapid intensification. Category 5 intensity looking increasingly likely.

Rapid axisymmetrization ongoing with #Neoguri at the 27 degree latitude. Cloud tops within the CDO can be seen uniformly cooling, along with the eye continuing to improve in definition and warm, likely signaling this is now a Cat 4, and may very well become a Super Typhoon.

When dealing with a full-fledged typhoon given Dvorak estimates of T6.0 on the one hand and ASCAT readouts of 81 kt on the other, it is the latter which must get the precedence. This is the lesson we learn today from the JTWC! An excellent of estimate of 85 kt for #Neoguri today!

The NHC is initiating advisories on Tropical Depression #07L (formerly Invest #92L) in under half an hour from now (0900 UTC), but I'm afraid this is absolutely not a tropical cyclone in reality... Poorly organised linear convection and a poor surface circulation per ASCAT...

#95E appears to be a bona fide tropical cyclone, with decently organised deep convection being associated with a well-defined surface circulation visible on geostationary satellite imagery as well as scatterometer data. I wonder why the NHC did not initiate advisories at 15Z...

Very obviously a sponsored post - and badly fact-checked. GPT 5 is a little better than Perp Pro (I have a subscription of it through IITKgp); though both are poor for research anyways. And using GPT/LLMs so much seems to be making people dumber as well - in my exp. at least...
