Alright I’m done doom trolling about Bo Nix. I very much still don’t like the pick, and agree with *most* of what Ive tweeted since the pick. I’ve gotten my negativity out, going back to normal now. Obviously I can be wrong about Bo, but I’m not going to work backwards into…
There is obviously bad process picks that deserve blame But taking a QB your team targeted and evaluated is not bad process on the surface The grade is TBD
Post Draft Grades are fun but they are simply content for the sake of content So for all the Ds and Fs you see the Broncos getting for taking Bo Nix at 12, know it doesnt matter
One thing though about this all that imo has to be said is this is truly the first time we have seen Sean Payton with a majority of the power make such an investment in the quarterback position He's a hell of a coach and elevator of talent But jury is out as far as evaluator
Hard not to get more optimistic about Nix the way Payton talks about him A hard evaluation with Oregon's offense and what he was asked to do to operate that offense First time we have seen Payton truly "invest" on a QB Hope he got it right
I’m happy for Bo, I really am because I was initially not the biggest fan of the transfer to Oregon. He ultimately grew as a player and made me eat some crow. I hope Payton can maximize his strengths and we can figure out how to build a team around him 🙌🏽🔥 #scO

I had 24 first-round grades this year. Only two are still left on the board. Jackson Powers-Johnson and Cooper DeJean. DeJean was my lowest first-round grade, right above the cutoff. JPJ, the tape is great, but he plays a lesser-valued position and has some injury.
Imo there are 3 ways to do this wrong 1) saying you know how it will turn out for Denver and Nix… we simply won’t have a good idea until January next year 2) telling others how they should or shouldn’t feel about the pick. It’s your feelings and they are valid 3) being a dick
No idea how you can watch the last 8 years of Broncos football and be upset about them drafting Bo Nix at 12. Even if he doesn’t pan out that decision isn’t even in the top-15 of bad choices Denver has made since they won it all.

This is kind of where I am at. Would I have liked to see a trade down before Nix? Sure, but I get that things didn't fall that way. Not sold on Nix @ 12, as its hard to improve areas with more experienced players, but Payton sees something & I'll trust that. I'm content with it.

Final thought on the Nix selection: I’m absolutely fine with Sean Payton taking the guy he loves whether I agree with the evaluation or not. Where criticism will follow is if Nix isn’t good. He should be criticized for his evaluation if that’s the case.
