@MoMcCormick7 I was a four or five year old traveling through Dallas with my parents around 1960 or 61 and at breakfast I suddenly look up and Carol Burnett is sitting in a booth across the room wiggling her finger at me telling me to come over. I was somewhat confused and embarrassed, (1)
@MoMcCormick7 But recognized the woman I had seen on TV. I went over and she talked to me, autographed her Holiday Inn travel guide for me and kissed me on the cheek. I walked back to my parents with everyone in the restaurant staring at me and smiling. I still have the autographed guide.
@MoMcCormick7 I have always loved her shows and have that wonderful memory of that brief meeting with her.
@MoMcCormick7 Carol’s niece and I went to grade school together. She would visit once a year to promote our drama dept, and she would pay for all the decorations/displays/sets, and our food.. and she’d stay for the performance and sign autographs for people. Super nice from what I remember.
