Lake Powell is at its lowest level since it first filled, and it's about to drop below a critical elevation for hydropower production. I spent the last week sea kayaking down the San Juan River to the confluence with the Colorado River. Here are a few photos from the trip.

Why am I interested abt Ukraine? Visited numerous times, last y spent time w/Parliament members discussing risks & systems. Drank with Ukrainians (a lot), met the Zelinskys, vis. churches. Russians speakers are like Swiss Germans to the Germans. It felt like Russia but w/FREEDOM.

@kingharis @clmarohn @karakara98 @StrongTowns We haven't quite reached the same levels, and the traffic patterns are very different (odd peak hours) leading to less bumper-to-bumper traffic and more speeding. msn.com/en-us/news/us/…

Each colored shape represents the footprint of solar projects already-built, or pending construction on desert habitat in southern Nevada. This city could host thousands of MW of #solar on rooftops and over parking lots with the right policies. But instead we pave the desert.

How will future archaeologists uncover a history we have actively destroyed? In so many places, there's nothing left to be ruins.
