Antidepressants can ruin lives without people even realizing it.
The difference is that in real hospitals people tend not to die from the treatments they are given, or kill themselves because of their awful adverse effects and/or the pessimistic hopelessness of the medical/illness model, and have the right to stop the treatment and go home.
@ReadReadj @MITUKteam @Mad_In_America They’re of course very unwell to begin with, same as with elevated death rates in say, a cancer or stroke services when compared with similar risks in the general population. I struggle to understand why you’d construct your argument in this way.

Antidepressants can lead to physical changes in the genitals. Dr. Ahad Waraich, through the use of ultrasounds, has detected penile scarring (fibrosis) in young men experiencing #PSSD. The penile tissue of young PSSD patients usually resembles that of an 80-year-old person.

To this day, this Fortune article stands out as one of more thorough reporting on antidepressants. It covers the history, suicide, violence, & withdrawal concerns related to SSRIs, and features Woody’s story. Unfortunately, the article was published before discussion on PSSD.…
