If you treat people like they're smart, they're eager to learn. If you assume they're dumb, they tend to disengage. People generally have the ability to understand if you help them find the motivation. When you show confidence in their capability, they become more curious.

Problem solving is not a useful skill. We all have the internet. Any of us can find solutions to problems very easily. The important skill is *identifying* the problems that we need to solve, and being able to tell which of these to work on first.

Colorization APIs are becoming widespread; AI-colorized historical photos are circulated without caveat. But is AI colorization providing an accurate image of the past? To find out, I digitally desaturated these color photos by Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky, taken between 1909 and 1915.
