What are the options for parents if what’s supposed to be “ordinarily available” in mainstream schools isn’t delivered? An accountability mechanism is urgently needed, and IPSEA would like to see extended role for LGSCO in schools. #SENLawConf

Hearing that word again - “accountability” that is the key thing that will stop the SEN crisis and I agree. If we have accountability for the unlawful decisions made - we would not have so many appeals and fundamentally, children/YP would obtain the support they need #SenLawConf

No surprise that a new House of Lords report concludes that implementation of the Children & Families Act 2014 has been a failure and children & families have suffered as a result. Peers call it a missed opportunity and say that the SEND system needs to be properly accountable.
