Looking at the SWA PV Ultra Cable to link one string on garage to inverter in adjacent garage and needing to bury it? are people fitting DC MCBs on this and earthing to back to CU via MET etc?
Yet another PV install on a shared RCD, installed in 2020 this time by @ecoNRGuk . Sure they wont mind me tagging them and showcasing the excellent work... Throw it in and if it works it works hey!
Had the MCS assessment today and it was reassuring to be shown the processes NICEIC have in place to route out the rogues. some on 3 or 4 visits per year to look at multiple sites chosen by NICEIC. They are on a mission to improve things but its not going to happen overnight

Just ordered the forthcoming IET CoP for EESS that is released this week for a shocking £80 (Robbery!). Wonder if we will see anything tie in to the PAS regards install locations? Of course the cycnic says they will keep that for an addendum or new version to make more money!

@neilbridgeman The way commissioning works generally with battery/inverters is the warranty is placed into the end users name. Solar panels etc less simple. So many of these insurance policies are hard to get pay outs from as well. We just helped 2 customers who got done by first for solar…
On training course today and told Liverpool use different order of colours for 3 phase- known as The liverpool Cross… supposedly down to it being to hard to switch phases to align with rest of uk? Anybody able to shed light or explain?

Installing a Givenergy Gen3 Hybrid with 8.2kwh battery, the DC MCB clicks/buzzes when powered on and battery beeps and shuts off. polarity is correct, connections torqued correctly using the crimped green ferrules, tried spare DC MCB same effect. thoughts?
Customer asked me for a quote to set up and commission new battery he has put in his utility room . Safe to say there are a few things that need addressing first such as this 6mm with ct clamp! Historical water/ rust from plumbing above… its a day at least to bring up to regs

@SulisElectrical The OCPD wouldn’t disconnect in event of earth fault. With simple systems 2 strings or less OCPD can be omitted - doesn’t say you can’t fit - usually a couple of strings on a house is short simple runs, anything more complicated then the designer is welcome to add more 👍
@SulisElectrical There lies the fundamental problem - where the protection method is Double Insulation, yet an exposed conductive part is introduced. Regulation permit ducts that comply with BS EN 61386-24:2010, Type 750N.

@SulisElectrical Heard similar from NAPIT. It’s easy to critique the CPS providers but I feel a will to try on this. Hopefully it catches on and the training sector stops lowering the bar for those of us trying. Keep it up mate 💪
