THIS CHART TELLS YOU A LOT ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE SURFACE. I did a 2.5-hour deep dive with the MtM community last night, zooming right out to the quarterly and multi-year charts. When you look at markets from that perspective, one thing becomes very clear to me: we are getting very, very, very late in the major equity cycle. I believe the risk of a major equity correction is now extremely elevated. Potentially something larger than what we experienced during the Dot-com bust or GFC. But there is an important catch. On these big-picture charts, each candle represents three months. So "close" on a macro chart could mean next month, or it could mean another year or two. This is about recognising changing conditions, not trying to pick the exact day of a market top. And this chart is one of the reasons I'm paying such close attention. This is Consumer Staples versus Consumer Discretionary, XSJ/XDJ. Think of it simply as NEEDS versus WANTS. Staples are the things people continue buying when times get tougher: food, groceries, household essentials. Discretionary is the stuff we can cut back on: restaurants, entertainment, holidays, furniture and other non-essential spending. When this ratio is falling, discretionary is outperforming staples. Investors are generally comfortable taking risk. When this ratio starts trending higher, the opposite is happening. Needs are outperforming wants. Money is rotating toward defence. That matters because defensive sectors such as consumer staples and healthcare have historically tended to hold up better as economic growth slows, while more economically sensitive areas such as consumer discretionary can struggle. Fidelity Now look at what happened before the GFC. On the chart, this ratio moved into bullish market structure around August 2007. The US economy subsequently reached its official business-cycle peak in December 2007, marking the beginning of the recession that ran until June 2009. National Bureau of Economic Research. Now, nearly two decades later, this ratio is once again testing that major area and threatening to establish bullish structure. That doesn't mean another GFC starts tomorrow. One chart cannot predict the day of a financial crisis, and the current setup does not tell us how large any future correction will be. But it does tell me something important about rotation and risk appetite. This is why defence becomes increasingly important to my strategy from here. Late in major cycles, I don't want to blindly chase whatever performed best during the previous growth phase. I'm watching whether capital continues rotating away from expensive growth and discretionary areas and toward staples, healthcare, energy, commodities and other hard assets/value areas. That's the bigger lesson. Markets don't all peak and bottom together. While one part of the market can be moving through excess, another can be sitting in accumulation. The job isn't to guess the exact date everything falls apart. It's to recognise when the tide underneath the market is beginning to change. And right now, this chart is one of the clearest signals I'm watching.

If my interpretation is correct, we have ~ 4M shorts trapped. Price has started moving above their entries. Move higher + they will be squeezed - (OI ⬇️ + CVD ⬆️). Maybe then one last push down to liquidate (~2M) longs and then up we go....? There's also a 4h RSI divergence. $BCH

$CHZ - meanwhile this trade is closed. Auto-Trail SL was hit after I took another TP at 10/10 Wick. Planned of this trade: RR 6.59 / final RR after partial TP's: 3.7 🥳 MS is stil bearish - and I'm not interested in longing until we see some strength/confirmation.

$CHZ - SHORT - am I too bearish here...? 🧸 But me thinking, being bullish on CHZ during ⚽️ worldcup feels too obvious... also, MS bearish + nice reaction so far at the 2D BB. (I've entered on second test). Already took some good TP, SL2BE and letting the rest run.
