A model that honestly says it doesn’t know what will happen is not necessarily a bad model. Even with all the data, many things are hard to predict. We have to stop believing data is enough.

I took & taught Harvard College classes w/Extension students enrolled. They, in general, took classes more seriously and performed better than College students. Whether their degrees "count" depends entirely on whether you care about admissions pedigree or actual education.
