Get the word out to communities about programs we offer. We're not just an ag school. Also, how successful our programs are.
People need to know we have 4 yr programs. reputation is for 2 years.
College could have a center for civic involvement, inviting others in to learn about the college and educate others in areas of expertise.
marketing is an issue. People don't know what we do and how well we do it, including sustainability.
Promote sustainability as a way to attract students?
students come to Randolph because they like the charm/location. If they wanted a more urban experience they would go elsewhere.
Can we look at some sports to see if others would be better received and attended by students?
Student council involvement in event planning has increased dramatically in the last few years.
obstacles to weekend activities include students needing to work to earn income. More are going "home" to work for weekend.
look for ways to be like a large campus but still be local. Rethink community life on campus.
student community life has been an issue for a long time on Randolph Campus.
need stronger campus community to attract more students. Also, make sure that educational opportunities are strong to keep them interested.
classroom education is consistent across campuses. Increasing community life experiences at Randolph shouldn't impact outcomes.
concept of applied learning is not familiar to all. Need to educate others about it.
In recognizing nec. for change, how to keep values consistent? "We may march to the music of our time, but mission remains same."
