@AustinJustice I own a fitness studio and she left Corepower, came straight to my studio and bought merchandise using a stolen credit card from a Corepower member. She also yells at me in our parking lot that I stole her car in our divorce. She is unhinged

Reading what the CEO of Anthropic wrote, it is more clear than ever you basically have less than a 5 year window to hyper-gamble your way into elite status or end up a serf for life We're in the Endgame now.

@Lottie0817 @KaareJohnson Well if it was full of parking lots it would look like every other soulless shopping street in America. The lack of parking is precisely why you (and I, and everyone) love it so much

Terrible take. 7am (or earlier) flight are never delayed, everyone is quiet because they’re tired, you have all day at your destination. Adults take the earliest flight possible

at some point you have to accept that you've aged out of 7am flights

Best decision we ever made to move here. My wife and I say “Only in Austin” at least weekly because of the new opportunities and the people we keep meeting. Austin Superpowers Help-First Culture → open networks & fast collaboration We Build Everything → homes, rockets, robots, companies, & community Living in the Future → we create innovation & deploy it locally (robotaxis, 3D-printed homes, delivery robots, Alpha School & UATX) The Power of “And” → tech + art, science + industry, digital + physical Austin Cool Factor → F1, SXSW, ACL NASCAR, monster trucks, and the rodeo Challenges The closest Big 4 team is the Spurs. Otherwise it’s Houston or Dallas for NBA, MLB, and NFL. UT football and Austin FC are our “pro” teams When I lived in San Diego, we took the kids to museums and zoos often and I miss that here. Austin needs more cultural assets unique to our city. Dataland, the first AI art museum, should have been here, not LA. Restaurant scene is actually great and growing, but not anywhere near the scale of NYC. Being acknowledged by Michelin now Need to crack down on homelessness, crime, and over spending by City Council

People shit on Austin for being blue. But man, they just rejected a tax increase to "help homeless people." It's also been building a ton to drive down home costs. Austin does a good job of straddling the line between empathy and logic.

If you make $300k+ moving numbers around spreadsheets and boxes around PowerPoint slides, you probably shouldn’t quit and buy a plumbing company

I moved to America about a decade ago. Illegal immigration is annoying. So are kids born here repping foreign flags and calling their parents’ homeland “home.” America doesn’t need more “citizens of the world,” or border-hoppers hustling fake handbags on Canal Street. She needs immigrants who come not just for ‘life here is better’, but who will mould themselves to align with America’s history and founding. Assimilation isn’t bigotry — it’s the price of entry. I don’t even wanna talk about Dearborn, Michigan. Go read my piece on @PirateWires ⬇️

NEW IN PIRATE WIRES: American immigrants don’t assimilate anymore. They don’t even think they should — because America stopped asking them to. This is a problem. Look around. In June, illegal immigrants waved Mexican flags over burning cars. A Minneapolis mayoral hopeful calls

TOMORROW, WE BUILD! Starting tomorrow, SB 840 will go into effect, officially making it legal to build housing on every commercially zoned lot in Texas cities of populations over 150k. This is possibly the single largest statewide zoning change in the entire country.

TEXAS SENATE JUST PASSED HOUSING ON COMMERCIAL ZONED LAND STATEWIDE 🤯 This law legalizes development & preempts cities over 150k from imposing - Density limits below 36 unit/acre - Heigh restrictions below 45ft - Setbacks over 25ft - Parking reqs over 1/unit THIS IS MASSIVE
