@zatarek I dunno. Getting sad soft indie boi vibes. And what does a sad soft indie boi like more than anything? The Smiths so they can impress sad girls with mental illnesses into thinking they're deep.

@Ephemeral_ll We knew Fifi had trash morals, but her life-loving "is she really that dumb or playing it up" attitude was too cute and we went into denial. It's like your adorable grandma tht everyone loves till she says sth racist and you have to pretend u didn't hear it or you start hating her

@Ephemeral_ll Brains are sorta like a kid. They act more on instinct than because of thoughts and they learn by repetition/example rather by just logic. Soooo just expose it to more situations where the outcome is positive and it rewires your instincts. At the end it isn't trying to hurt you.

@Ephemeral_ll It's not exactly your brain's fault. When you were growing up, the coping mechanisms you developed, albeit harmful, really helped you survive. It's trying to protect you the only way it knows how.All you can do is be gentle with it and teach it new ways to cope with things.

@Ephemeral_ll Could also be that the brain associates stability with stagnation, inaction or laziness. We always need to be growing/changing/doing more and if we don't we just don't trust that we're doing our best. Sometimes it's hard to think you have earned peace.

@Ephemeral_ll So how does your brain react to keep itself in control? It does the damage before anyone/anything else can do it. Even if the self-sabotage hurts you, the brain manages to stay in control by doing the bad thing and not giving chance to the outer world to hurt you.

@zatarek LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL EGYPT IS *ad shows same stock footage every other "look how beautiful Egypt is" ad that fingerpicks ultra touched-up versions of Egypt the rich class can identify with and dangerously presents disenfranchised people in way better conditions than they're in*

@Ephemeral_ll I hate to quote my therapist and her generic life advice, but yearning for vague goals like "freedom" or "true love" makes it really hard for you to reach your goals. Is your need for freedom hiding a more concrete wish you can achieve? Things like that are easier on your system

@Ephemeral_ll My point is, don't exactly envy those "free people" too much, cause freedom is nice, sure, but the grass is always greener on the other side and you might just end up as lost as before with it.

@Ephemeral_ll Freedom is unfortunately very relative and a lot of it depends on your privilege, which is a very real setback and it's unfortunate. I also don't want to sound like a disconnected instagram influencer, but having options doesn't mean you will find what you think you like.

@Ephemeral_ll Life's more about having a set of experiences that is unique to you and making sure you can make the best out of them while being kind to yourself and people around you. Cause even with all the support in the world, you would have still wanted to do things you "should" have done.

@Ephemeral_ll And if it's any consolation numero 2, you change so much as a person over the years that even if you started your journey "earlier" and find yourself at 22,you would still have changed after you hit your thirties again cause life's not a race to see who feels fulfilled first.

@Ephemeral_ll I might have been different. I might have been more fulfilled by now. But if it is any consolation tho from the Germans around me, going on adventures and doing dumb shit doesn't build character as much as you think. Struggle usually carves that out of you.
