@ameliaboone I've stayed in airbnbs and had my own I hosted here (Asheville). Imo hotels are better for renting rooms and short stays. Airbnb is often better if you want a whole place to rent or week long stays but it's terribly inconvenient for short stays for both the guest and the host.

@ameliaboone Such needed words. If you've been a logical "who needs feelings?" kind of person for as long as you can remember, how do you start unlocking those again?

I’m a feeler. I have been ever since I was a little kid. But somewhere along the way, I became afraid of big emotions: big emotions were difficult. They were scary. Loving hard set you up for heartbreak. Hoping hard set you up for disappointment. . The e… ift.tt/2AWiD0y

@ameliaboone I just did an open water mile swim in Banff no wetsuit needed. It was so beautiful, not that it helps you in Tahoe. But I think there's a unique enjoyment and accomplishment with open water swimming!

@marcmaron @DallasTheatreTX @deandelray I read the tag as Deande L Ray and thought "Oh cool an up and coming black comedian I'll for sure have to check out." Felt dumb when I realized I was supposed to read it as Dean Delray. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

@ameliaboone It's crazy how often when people are vulnerable and open up about something, other people's responses are to minimize or dismiss their experiences. Basically invalidating their struggle. As a society we need lessons in empathy, compassion and how to be a decent human.

@rikilindhome I just set up a few Blink cameras and find it really easy to set up and use. It's not actively monitored by the PD or anything but it will notify you and record anything that moves.
