@atooraha_maska @KyivIndependent They are dying protecting their sovereign land, not western interests. Now that russia has invaded and killed so many of their people, doubt they want to just let bygones be bygones with their historic neighbor (who incidentally has pulled this shit several times before)

@Tricialm @big_monkeyball The vax puts a strain on your body, but so does covid. How old and sickly was she prior? It's a dilemna as it's not realistic to shield people forever from covid, but chances of avoiding severe sickness when frail people catch it unvaxed are also slim.

@Tricialm @big_monkeyball I'm all for them investigating for a stroke link. Myocarditis is real, but to do w hitting a vein vs the vax contents, I believe. Also deaths were per million doses, vs covid which at it's peak gave u a 1/50 chance of dying. Luckily that stat greatly improved over time

@pandemik0 @big_monkeyball Show me then: evidence vaxed peeps die disproportionately higher vs unvaxed. Billions got vaxed, so it would show up. Sadly, it seems like the opposite is true. I.e. there are less unvaxed (particularly old and sickly) alive today than compared to similar vaxed populations

@Tricialm @big_monkeyball Anecdotal evidence. I'm sorry he got sick & I don't know the dets, but it's too easy to pin it on the vax, when it could just as easily be something else. Causality is complex. My father in law didn't get sick after being vaxed. That 1 case doesn't prove the vax is safe, either.

@BJCorkin @pandemik0 @big_monkeyball What's that supposed to mean? FYI, I got vaxxed my kids didn't. I reckon if your healthy, ur probably OK not to. Back in '20 there were way more unknowns and my position evolved. There were risks either way. I got vaxxed cos I reckoned it was a better gambit, and allowed travel

@whatalife58 @big_monkeyball As for why people don't get boosters... I'd say at least partly because of diminishing marginal returns. And also once you've run the gauntlet (whether being vaxxed or not), you've passed the test and proven your immunity. No one likes getting jabbed, either.

@whatalife58 @big_monkeyball Who says they suffered more? (well, antivaxxers, obviously, but usually based on anecdotal evidence, and u guys are hardly objective or open minded). With large sample sizes, patterns in data have answers. Stories you hear just tend to reaffirm confirmation bias.

@pandemik0 @big_monkeyball It performed poorly in terms of preventing infection, but not poorly in terms of reducing symptoms, which is also important. And besides... you talk with the benefit of hindsight... there was no way of knowing Omi would be relatively mild.

@Tricialm @big_monkeyball Well, that's cos the benefits did outweigh the risks. Check excess mortality data. And note that excess mortality tends to be highest in places full of fat right wing anti vaxers.

@notoaotearoa @big_monkeyball NZ had way less excess mortality than any other country in the world. So have a little think: if the vaccines were killing people, not Covid, logically NZ's excess mortality would be high. Yet it isn't, cos we were vaxed before Covid was endemic.
