Would disagree with the characterization - we haven't "failed to clinch" anything IMO. Second tranche is anyway only due after a staff level agreement and eventual board agreement. Tax revenue is important but only indicative. Unlikely to derail current review, but matters later

The IMF reached a SLA with Argentina in July - a program that went widely off track Vs Sri Lanka's (Of course IMF exposure to Argentina makes it a unique case). But also, can pressure on IMF from Argentina's struggles lead to stricter approach in other programs - like SL?

What I learned at IMF/WB meetings 1. No consensus on monetary policy. Most policy makers want to keep hiking aggressively, most market participants want central banks to slow. Best quote I heard: "When I drive into fog, I slow down." There's massive global uncertainty. Slow down!

Slightly concerned over the fact that the anti-goverment protests appears to have jettisoned economic reform in favour pursuing political reform. While political reform is important, the need of the hour is effective economic reform.
