@ParikPatelCFA This list is missing a lot of names. Benjamin Franklin, possibly the most important of the founding fathers, primarily.

The US is choosing not to put troops on the ground. It’s not that they lack the power to eliminate the IRGC — it’s that our own political system is the biggest card Iran holds against us. A ground war with the casualties that would require is politically unsurvivable domestically. But the architecture argument may make that moot. Many think the bet is that demonstrated naval interdiction capability plus IAEA verification plus economic integration changes Iranian behavior more durably than continued conflict would have. That bet could be wrong. The 2015 JCPOA failed a similar one. The honest answer is we won’t know for 5-10 years whether this was Trafalgar or Munich. The people making the bet argue the architecture is different this time — Gulf reconstruction capital, Abraham Accords framework, demonstrated interdiction capability that didn’t exist before. Critics arguing it’s Munich have legitimate grounds. Both readings fit the available facts. Even so, looking at the bigger chessboard — not just Iran — it’s hard to argue the US isn’t in a stronger strategic position today than February 27th.

@JeffreyPerren @DrJStrategy Trafalgar analogy is about removing their leverage — Hormuz and nuclear ambiguity—not about removing the money. Napoleon stayed rich after Trafalgar. He just couldn’t threaten Britain by sea anymore. just my 2¢

@JeffreyPerren @DrJStrategy The IRGC gets paid either way. Only way around it is ground troops. The question isn’t whether sanctions relief & unfrozen assets enriches them. It does. The question is whether the architecture around the money changes their behavior.

@Its_ereko @theamerican2006 What do you suspect China has planned for its working-age population decrease? Modest estimates think it reduces By 20% by 2050.

@PaulRChase @CalebIronscribe @DrJStrategy whitehouse.gov/wp-content/upl… seems like they have a plan. I understand the urge to hate the guy, but it’s pretty hard to claim any miscalculation this early, especially from an admin that is CLEARLY calculating everything all the time — including midterms which are 30+ weeks away.

@KSnetne @EricLDaugh @kareemah2017 We have no real idea of what’s being discussed in back rooms to protect the images of both regimes. We just know that much of the IRGC has been destroyed and that millions will be suffering from global economy shortages very soon. That’s confirmed on both sides.

@aakib0119 @rami_hashimi They’ll never do it. It’s narrative control while we wait for Tripoli to arrive and continue to deplete their munitions. Thats my opinion. Nobody is as stupid as some people seem to think Trump is.

@rami_hashimi Iran made an unrealistic offer so Trump did the same, which is what he almost always does. IRGC runs Iran. Thats obvi.. They won’t accept any terms. Taking Kharg is or waiting for internal fracturing is the only way to end it. Marines are a few days away.

@jl_penguin1 @AdamMossoff Also, it’ll be hard to deny how history will look at Donald Trump if legit peace in the Middle East happens on his watch. For a man obsessed with praise, you know legacy is on his mind. He’s also a professional gambler.

@jl_penguin1 @AdamMossoff Perhaps the “why” has more to do with controlling choke points than it does anything else. Sustaining the petro dollar, integrating the Middle East more into American macroeconomic strategy in order to un-empower China just a bit more.

@jl_penguin1 @AdamMossoff I don’t claim to know the truth. This is just the most logical big picture considering shadow fleets can’t be sanctioned, summit with Xi on deck, their National Security Strategy in general.

@TheRogueSignals @KobeissiLetter I think the wording is intentional – to build a narrative that can help him geopolitically to maintain the Petro dollar. If America ends up dealing with the opening of the straight alone, the argument of trading in yuan, or anything other than the dollar, looks ridiculous.

@TheRogueSignals @KobeissiLetter I think he’s drawing a line in the sand – forcing China to show its hand.

@sf0454 @sciencebamf @bennyjohnson I doubt you mean it @sf0454 but how this reads is that ICE has the right to reprimand anyone recording them and to kill that person if they are holding a gun, regardless if said gun is pulled which in this scenario it obviously is not. wsj.com/us-news/videos…

@elonmusk See: Africa, Latin America and even the US is still seeing demographic incline. Humanity is far from going extinct, but a lot is going to change. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a significant increased in migration to Europe despite the current sentiment.
