Dr. Tim Waters @drtimwaters

Dear new leader: remember that leaders are readers. You don’t have to learn every bit of wisdom the hard way. Others have gone before and have blazed a trail. Those you lead always benefit from you expanding your leadership wisdom, and the sooner the better. #leadwell #learner

Dear new leader: If you’re not pursuing your people and reassuring them about where things are, it’s too easy for misunderstandings to happen. Being proactive in celebrating and connecting with your crew will always win out over silence. #leadwell #communication #pursue

Dear new leader: God has apportioned all the time you need to get it all done. If you keep finding yourself chasing your tail and never catching up, is it possible that you’ve gotten ahead of next season’s grace? Always a good time for quiet time to see where things really are.

Dear new leader: avoid the trap of premature promotion. David knew he would one day be King, but he didn’t force things or take out Saul when he could’ve. Lessons: 1. Don’t mistake temptation for opportunity. 2. Wait for God’s timing to walk in his best blessings. #wisdom #trust

Dear new leader: sometimes the way doors open to our leadership gives us the mistaken perception that it’s all about us. But the sooner we move the focus onto serving those around us, the sooner real success can begin. #servantleader #teamswin #reproducingsuccess

Dear new leader: avoid the trap of thinking that your new ideas are always better than the traditions you’re now evaluating. Some things haven’t changed because they still work. Change for change’s sake often brings regret. The New Coke story is a great example. #wisdom #smarter

Dear new leader: don’t get frustrated when doors of promotion or change don’t happen on your timetable. It’s quite possible that God is keeping you here a little longer because you are the anchor for others. When the time is right you will move. Patience! #destiny #wait #trust

To all my leader friends out there: if you haven’t yet seen this interview, it’s worth the hour investment to sit down and absorb this for the success of your leadership! youtu.be/Pyy8QS8ltVk #leaders #maxwell #excellence

Dear new leader: flat leadership styles are popular among your younger ranks: “We don’t do top-down. We are democratic.” But your people will soon notice if their votes and input don’t count. Careful that you really do what you say. Ppl will only follow you if they trust you.

@GartrellLinda @IngmanDavid Looks like we were disconnected but I reconnected. They can try to slow us down but they can’t keep us from winning!

Dear new leader: FOMO is huge today, and I’m sure you already know it means Fear of Missing Out. I want to challenge you to aim higher with FMGB: Fear of Missing God’s Best. His wisdom is waiting for those who want it. James 1:5 #wisdom #askseekknock #fellowship #quietplace

Dear new leader: your people will give you a pass on not being perfect if they know you’re aiming for setting proper goals and timely communication. Awkward upper silence creates survival mode, division and distrust among people. But you can lead things to a better place. #leader

Dear new leader: the people around you may not say it out loud, but they very much appreciate you learning all you can about time management, soft skills and leadership. Seasons will come and go, but the basics will always be the basics. #wisdom #growth #leadingwell

Dear new leader: your car will stop when it runs out of gas, but it’s too easy to push the human body past that point. If you want your leadership to last, make sure its human container is well maintained and rested when needed. We need you for the long haul. #longevity #selfcare

Dear new leader: there’s a big difference netween CAN and SHOULD. You and I can put in 60-70 hrs every week for the rest of our lives. Some seasons may need that but without balance overall our families and relationships will suffer. Tip: work can always wait; people may not.

Dear new leader: it may happen soon or it may happen later. But when God hides you behind the scenes, don’t view it as punishment. A smart coach knows when to bench his best players. Many quit at this point, and that’s a shame. But the wise let God grow them for future seasons.

Dear new leader: if you’re trying to win everyone over by impressing them or being their best friend, then you won’t hit the whole target. Showing your people that you’re here to serve them and their success is the best way to win your team’s trust. #servantleader #winning #score

Dear new leader: you have new ideas, but if you birth them prematurely they could be stillborn. Great ideas can get lost along the way if you don’t respect the culture and history of the people who welcomed you in. Help your people buy in or they will tune out. #collaboration

Dear new leader: there’s a time for solo decisions and a time for team-driven decisions. Knowing when each is appropriate can be a lifesaver for your leadership. When in doubt, pray for wisdom. James 1:5 #longevity #sagewisdom #accountability #timing #hiswisdom #spirit-led

Dear new leader: if the input of the people around you is always seen as a threat, then you’re headed toward a lonely place. Insecurity isn’t pretty, and it repels those your leadership needs for success. There is no I in TEAM, but there is an O in LOSER. Step carefully. #wisdom
