Not to be a NERD about this but I looked into the numbers more and... • Most Queers: Brooklyn (300,000) • Most Queers / sqmi: Manhattan (12,360/sqmi) • Most Queers / capita: DC (22.6%)

“women who just had bad sex are claiming to have been raped so that they’ll receive better treatment” yes. all that great treatment you give rape victims. you treat them so kindly and with such privilege.

Surely people aren't this naive around sex, drugs and consent? Her texts clearly show she was excited to have a threesome with two specific guys. That's what she was expecting and wanted and planned to do when she was sober! You probably shouldn't do Ket when you're having a threesome but the 3 of them knew beforehand they would so that's fine What she didn't plan was 5 more guys to join. That's the whole problem!? When you're high you can't be expected to consent to a change of plans in the moment like that Strip all your emotions of the acts here and just think in any other situation would this be ok? If you agreed to terms of a contract when sober, do you think that contract is valid when you're inebriated and new terms and conditions are added? Like it's incredibly obvious that's not ok People just seem really uncomfortable with the idea that men can rape someone through plausibly denial acts and not just the masked gunman in an alley scenario they believe is the only valid form of rape

This is a grown ass adult who accused me of murdering my terminally ill husband multiple times. Best of luck to them, but they should be grateful that I’ve been as nice as I’ve been about this entire thing.

@offbeatorbit I deleted cause I didn’t mean to misgender them, but they are claiming they didn’t know you would be harassed but that you knew they would be harassed and you did it intentionally.

@noumenized as a person with actual long covid i have received incredibly ableist comments from the covid conscious community. they do not speak for all of us with a disability!!

like do we really want to cede that "person who cannot exist around others without trying to bully them into compliance" and "disabled person" are the same thing? is this *not* insanely fucking insulting and limiting in how one views disability? dare I say, ableist?

tired of mealy-mouthed defenses of the most rabid "COVID conscious" ppl whenever they once again engage in harassment & threats that we need to lead w/ sympathy for disability & trauma bc it suggests disabled traumatized ppl are incapable of not being aggressive assholes

@NukitToBeSure The detail I’m most stuck on: Equating masklessness with attempted murder of maskers, which hasn’t been true ever since the general public gained reliable access to high-quality respirators that make one-way masking reliably protective. It’s a 2020-era surgical mask talking point

I've accepted that I'm always going to mask and take more precautions then the majority of people (partially bc of having long covid, partially bc of my values), but I approach every conversation about it with "how can I make this better" rather than "how can I make this perfect"

Isobel Fox @foxxobel

the covid discourse of “mask all the time and if you don’t you’re committing genocide” is not productive. why don’t people discuss harm reduction, like we do with drugs? mask during times of high transmission and when on a train or flying. and most importantly, get vaccinated!

And I’ll go further. Not only is it gross to assume all disabled people share this weird Covid fundamentalism there is a lot of ableism inherit in it! I’ll never forget one of these fundamentalist boasting “I will walk to my grave, not crawl to it, because I take Covid seriously

barbarism critic @barbarismcrit

I think it’s fucked up to say all disabled people act like this as some kind of defense! And just because right wingers find certain behavior to be off putting doesn’t mean we have to decide that behavior is good. It isn’t good!!

@julia_doubleday @hbolton @captain_kinj literally yes. i've had long covid for years and i test and get my booster and mask on public transit etc. i also host house parties because i want to see my friends. i know this is a gotcha but there are people this applies to and the covid conscious discourse does not like us.

People draw comparisons to condoms a lot but people who work in sexual health and education will tell you that saying "the only thing you can do to protect yourself is wear a condom, any other measure is basically useless" doesn't increase condom usage it just decreases testing

I’ve NEVER been the perfect employee. I often showed up late. ADHD meant that I had a really hard time with certain deadlines and organizing my time. My saving grace was being p good at my job despite those shortcomings, having a good personality/presense, and networking.
