Quick FYI: I chase hurricanes. I talk about where they might form, where they might go, & where I might hunt them. & sometimes I sprinkle in a li'l history or climatology. I'm not a forecaster & I don't make forecasts for people's hometowns. Y'all have your local mets for that.

I'll confess I'm watching #Invest91L with interest. It looks feeble at the moment, but computer models are bullish, & they've shifted W, now suggesting credible threat to Lesser Antilles (pink) & E-most Greater Antilles, like Puerto Rico & Dominican Rep (orange). Need to watch.

Been ignoring this because this here chaserdude does not get emotionally involved with fish food. But models have been generally trending W with it, & some now suggest threat to North America—for example, possibly Caribbean Islands in about a week, & possibly locations beyond.

Say hey to #Hurricane #LORENA, which is rapidly intensifying just 120 mi SSW of #CaboSanLucas. But it's a very small cyclone, so wind impacts in Los Cabos will be minimal as LORENA passes by. Models suggest landfall further up the coast Friday, but only after dramatic weakening.

The Gulf at dusk. There was a stiff breeze on the waterfront in Bay Saint Louis today, with whitecaps on the water. But at Hurricane House, just a block inland, it was dead calm.
