Ramamurti: Why is it from the perspective of Republicans great to forgive a loan of up to $10 million to a business owner but if we want to provide $10k or $20k in loan relief to a teacher or a bus driver or a nurse.. all the sudden it’s socialism

@gehrig38 Also seems a bit strange to call people with student loan debt “uneducated”

@gehrig38 Hey Curt, educated person here with 2 degrees and 2 full-time jobs. I’ve paid back more than I borrowed and still have a massive amount of debt because interest was sky high when I went to college. This is a bad take. Don’t be ignorant

@rynoslice99 @KevinDawson11 @OccupyDemocrats I’m not familiar with Bay Area real estate but I imagine it’s worse than LA. I think I’m definitely lucky to know there are some areas I feel safe and can afford here right now

@rynoslice99 @KevinDawson11 @OccupyDemocrats I also live in CA and make 6 figures, and I will indeed be buying property here. If you make 6 figures it’s not out of reach. A single fam house with a yard might be though. You also get a tax break the first year you buy a house which is kind of them helping you buy a house

@michael74394131 @rynoslice99 @OccupyDemocrats If you made payments after Mar 2020 you’re eligible for up to $10k in refunds. If you were fortunate enough to make enough money to pay off your debt you’re doing better than the people who are still working to pay them off. Lower tuition and lowering interest need to happen too

Bold of Christians to be mad about student debt forgiveness while professing a faith that is literally based on forgiving debts.

NEW: A Fox anchor just shut down Rick Scott when he said the fact that his 2022 GOP platform calls for raising taxes on most Americans and sunsetting Social Security is a “Democrat talking point”: “It’s in the plan! It’s not a Democratic talking point. It’s in the plan!”

@ryanbooth I figured. Growing up in the kind of church I did gives me a lot of ideas for my stories.

@chrisbeggs Interesting their budget was this big then. Usually a marketing budget matches that of the production budget.

@chrisbeggs So much of this has to do with Marketing too. I couldn’t care less about Halloween, but I’ve seen so many ads and trailers and billboards for it. Haven’t heard of The Last Duel til now. Movies with big budgets have big marketing budgets and make more
