Startup roadmap in January: 14 features, 3 launches, a rebrand. Startup roadmap in October: the login works now.
@0xROAS Drama works because the first 3 seconds are a conflict, not a product. The trick is landing the product as the resolution so it doesn't feel like bait and switch, otherwise CTR looks great and CVR dies.
@MaxHirsch13 Organic slideshows are basically free creative testing. The ones that pop are pre-validated ads, so when they do turn on Meta they start with winners most brands pay to find.
@lukasenECOM Fast kills are right at that spend. Check where it died first though. If CTR was fine and people bailed on the page, the product might be fine and it's the offer or page, which is a cheaper fix than a new product.
@GlennNieuwenh Last line is the whole game. At real spend you manage contribution margin per day, not ROAS, and the accounts that scale are the ones willing to take a lower number to buy more customers they can monetize on the backend.
@shauneng Breaking down losers as hard as winners is the part almost nobody does. When a winner dies it's usually the avatar that's tapped out, not the format, so a new avatar on the same product is often a faster fix than a new hook.
@heyitsalexP The AI static generator point is the big one right now. With no context on who the buyer is and what objection the ad answers, you just get prettier versions of the same nothing. Polished is fine, vague is what kills it.
@fromadstoassets Mornings are mostly overnight buyers plus late attribution from yesterday, so they flatter the day. Judge on a 3 day rolling number, especially with 20 new ads still in learning dragging the blend.
Chipotle stock is down about 50% since Brian Niccol left as CEO in August 2024, per CBS News. Starbucks, where he went, is up 21.5% over about the same stretch, per Restaurant Business.
The Claude extension this week: • 20+ funnels • 3 full websites • hundreds of images • a dashboard built overnight, 7 to 8 hours straight while I slept • now sitting in support chats with vendors for me Designer, developer and support rep in one. Never asked for a raise. On Claude Max and using it to the max
@petersapps Meta at #1 tracks. Once a creative hits it scales further than slideshows ever will, the real work is feeding it new angles every week before frequency catches up.
@CoopEcom Smart. Just give CVR a few days before you cut anything, at small spend it swings a lot early on. Good luck with the launch.
Orkut launched 2 weeks before Facebook, got to 300M+ users, lost anyway, and was shut down in 2014. Last week its founder put up a page asking people to help bring it back. Over 270,000 have signed. 12 years later he's still building. Most of us quit after one bad month.
@dickiebush #5 is the one most people skip. Ad copy with zero emotion reads fine and converts like nothing.
@businessbarista High humility is the one hiring misses most. Agency and horsepower show up in the interview, humility only shows up the first time they're wrong.
@arvidkahl Can't vibecode trust is the line. The demo takes a weekend, the security review takes six months.
@jasonfried Client work is underrated right now. Every company has the same tangle and nobody inside has time to untangle it.
@gregisenberg The clicking part is what gets me. Half of ecom ops is still someone copy pasting between four tabs, that's the first thing to go.
@joshsuggss fr, ecom figured that out years ago. The SF version will just come with a pitch deck.
