@newtosltchat Inspectors with experience of the phase they are inspecting; More SEND expertise amongst inspectors ( our specialist unit gets ignored ); Maybe a system where inspectors are like LA school improvement partners and really get to know a setting through repeat visits? #NewToSLTChat

@newtosltchat @SchoolsWeek I don’t think they are easier for parents to understand, I don’t think the distinctions are clear in the descriptors, I think inclusive schools are disadvantaged and I think some sort of points system based on the judgements you get is inevitable and unwelcome. #NewToSLTChat

@newtosltchat They were mostly fair, in all honesty. The last one was in the final week before Christmas, which was already busy enough! Have seen staff feel less pressure as observations become less important but feel more pressure if their subject is deep-dived.

@newtosltchat The first was only spoiled by lay inspector. Others were great. Of my other inspections, the one where there was a predetermined narrative was uncomfortable.
