@3YearLetterman Was it over when the Germans bombed pearl harbor?

@michaelmiraflor Seems like it mostly impacts the "just arrive" people who show up and complain that their room isn't available. I wonder what the Venn diagram overlap of those and the "just leave" people is, anyway...

@mattyglesias On Ezra Klein's podcast, Debbie Millman argued that our society has become vulgar. While broadly speaking she was discussing design, this assessment seems broader.

@mattyglesias The resolution wasn't the issue. It didn't take away the knowledge of what was happening. I'm sure the OTA broadcast of the Challenger on my classroom TV also didn't look too vivid, but it is vividly in my memory.

@jonfavs The Constitution might supercede the Former president's wishes when there's a new president.

@SteveRattner I don't understand how it's possible to assume that the next President wouldn't just say "no" and Trump's dream of possessing this plane ends? There is no way Trump can ask for the plane without it clearly becoming an illegal emolument.

@Fiskantes Not sure about that. Once you get a satellite in orbit, I would think it's much safer there than in the orbit. And it can get a whole lot more solar radiation. I suspect equivalent compute can be an order of magnitude smaller, which might make it more viable.

@farman4x 12 x 1 divided by 4. Obviously it's the first digit of pi.

@sgodofsk How about we eliminate the estate tax and remove all step-up basis rules?

@robertgraham Still... There's no reason for a step up in basis. Its a tax shelter loophole that needs to be closed.

@Sanctuary_Bio There are a lot of new shares not yet priced into the printed market cap... I think when it's all accounted for, $NTLA has a decently larger market cap today than last Friday's close.

@conorsen Did you need Opus to do that work. Or could you have used a less intensively used model to generate a markdown summary and then used Opus to do the heavy lifting?

@xmethuselahx @DeItaone That's a non-sequiter. The US has just brought on a new generation of leadership in Iran and taught them how to use a new point of leverage. All the while, everything we've done has made China and Russia stronger while making us look like fools.
