Appreciate having @snyk around when you hear about widespread vulns like the current OpenSSL. They have a blog post with solid info and make the vuln scanning easy to know where to look. Make patching easy and teams will gravitate towards security resilience.

Not to be a downer but I really don’t find the fake “I got laid off, was working on [controversial feature]” posts funny. I worry that at a time when a lot of people are getting laid off, actual jobseekers’ needs will be ignored because we assume it’s a meme.

i'll be much more blunt. my dad got into a rut of layoffs later in his career. i saw what it did to him. it's demoralizing and heart breaking. don't fucking joke about it. it's not the least bit funny. this is people's lives.

For many, verification is the means by which they protect their identity from imposters and the like. I have no need for verification because nobody is likely to impersonate me. This is basically a protection racket. Good job.

I’m super disappointed to see leaders in this industry — who have made shit tons of money off the backs of developers — use the current economy as an opportunity to make public statements about how we don’t work hard enough, aren’t talented enough, and don’t deserve jobs.
