$LOAR is absurd. McKechnie guys attempting to sell to $TDG again, except that happened at 12.7x EV/EBITDA in 2010 and Loar is now at 50x EV/EBITDA....no way $TDG buys that valuation
Is there really any reason at all for any analyst to look at any metric other than normalized free cash flow when determining valuation? Why would anyone look at obfuscated or derivative metrics like EBITDA, GAAP EPS, or "Adjusted" anything?

I welcome 24/7 market trading, the volatility would be amazing, i would put in so many GTC bids at absurdly low strike prices and i know they would absolutely hit eventually because some degenerate would be fatfingering trades at 3AM on a Saturday

Question: I have an old 401k invested in a midcap strategy. Midcap has obviously underperformed for multiple years now. It feels pro-cyclical to just transfer it all to the S&P500, but that also feels like dumping something "undervalued" at the cyclical low What would you do?

We are conditioned from young to entirely judge/define everyone (including ourselves) based on job/income. Imo, it's the same reason we treat wealth and intelligence to be the same thing (regardless of whether wealth is attained via intelligence).
@Chariot_Invest I’m Scottish, but same pond. I think it’s good practice not to tie work with personality. Yet maybe this is why the entrepreneurial spirit is so much stronger in the States. I see some of this when i’m in India too. Energy like no other.
I get why people ask it, but i’ve always found “what do you do for work” such a lame icebreaker when meeting someone new.

The performance of some high-quality industrials over the past 5-10 years is crazy. ODFL or CPRT are fintwit favorites, but look at stuff like $WMS - Advanced Drainage Systems. Almost a 40% CAGR! do the drains have AI!?

Really like this graphic shared by $AMAT. You have to admire the competitive position they, $ASML and $LRCX have. Strong ROIC and growth within their respective niches. The cyclicality is rough and I don’t like the entry here but I’ve enjoyed learning about them.
