Extreme damage from the 2011 Chickasha EF4 tornado. The well built dome home in conjunction with extreme scouring may allow for this tornado to be upgraded to EF5 in the future.

Extreme damage from McConnell AFB from the 1991 Andover F5 tornado. Damage in this area was rated F3 and would likely be high end EF3 today.

@MaxVelocityWX’s hairline today has a very straight hodograph with weak mid and upper level shear, likely supportive of some weak tornado threat due to the weak veering in the low levels. Seems supportive of mini-supercells as well so the hail threat should be minimal.

Why are cloud bases so high, despite such low LCLs? A quick sounding check could tell you that these bases are likely elevated, sourced at a saturated layer around ~3-4km). Although LCLs are low, the near-ground layer is too dry/unmixed for low-level cloud development.

(Likely) September 20, 2006: A massive blowdown occurred in the Pecos Wilderness region of New Mexico's Santa Fe National Forest. While the exact date of this event is uncertain, examination of radar found a supercell that moved over the path on this day in 2006. #wxhistory

The Selden KS EF1 tornado 5/24/21 as seen by RaxPol. This tornado had a large width + tangental component of the wind and often contained larger multiple vortices. Peak winds within the smaller maxima was roughly 55 m/s (125 mph) although this tornado was rated EF1.

August 27, 1854: A tornado tore through a section of Louisville, Kentucky. Many structures (possibly over 100) were reportedly damaged or completely leveled, including a church, a school, and several businesses. 25 people were killed and around 100 others were hurt. #wxhistory
