I’m ready for this severe weather stretch. Things fell into place to be one of my more open weekends for flexible chasing. Nervous for big impacts but at least glad we’re talking plains and not the southeast.
One year ago a bucket list item was fulfilled sooner than I could have imagined
For anybody who has used Tier 2 of radarscope, have you found the road network data to be helpful while chasing? Is there some differentiation between road surfaces

I really do think tomorrow in Iowa is right on the razors edge from a chaseability standpoint. Timing is critical when figuring out if the lead wave can go downscale and if the 2nd wave can destabilize in time. From a general severe forecast perspective, likely a big day coming.

Calling it a finished chase with lots of upscale growth. Struck out from epic structure but I’d call it a 4/10 day. Great terrain with a decent supercell for about an hour, nothing could become surface based on our area. Onto tomorrow!

How you get ultra mega structure 101. Shit turning right more than you'd expect with strong juicy easterlies on a potent lifting front with such sw flow aloft. Two storms come to mind Bowdle 2010 (ne view had mega structure) and McCook 2011.
Stationed near Quinter KS on the warm front with some development to the southwest. Will watch cells develop and eventually commit to a target from here
