Final results after 9 months of pandemic training & hitting my 42nd bday. Realizing 2021 will be the 20th anniversary of officially starting my training business. There’s still a lot to get done, so excited to get after it...
Peaked after home training-only for 36 weeks. 2 lessons = simplify but intensify your training, automate your diet as much as possible.
Past 8 months I’ve been training exclusively at home with dumbbells & bands. It’s different for performance, but for general health & physique, I believe you can make significant progress with home workouts. I wouldn’t promote that if I didn’t believe it or practice it myself.
My buddy gifted me some flash frozen King Salmon from Alaska, and Kalai made some kind of teriyaki-ginger marinade. Holy hell, I haven’t had fish like that since my dad passed!
Lucky & grateful we dig our quarantine routine so much that we don’t feel like we need anything else, even on special occasions. Celebrated our anniversary with coffee, a neighborhood walk, cocktails in our living room lounge, some sports sprinkled in, and a home-cooked dinner.

Been digging integrating some resistance band exercises into my private clients’ (and my own) home and virtual workouts. They allow us to re-create some of the favorite movements I used to do on a free-range cable system (split stance pulldowns, single crossovers, etc.)

The best thing I ever did with regards to working out? Stopped caring - like actually stopped caring - about how much weight I was going to lift in the gym on any particular day. I began 'enjoying' training only after that epiphany. Try it.
There are a lot of fitness cults out there that want you to tie your identity (and your credit card) to a certain way of doing things. But that's all for their benefit, not yours. Don't get stuck in the dogma. Keep learning. Keep growing.
With regards to weight training, I know people who focus on minimal viable volume and minimal viable frequency, but I'm unaware of anyone who is specializing or writing about minimal viable load (weight). Anyone know anyone writing on this topic?

Advice to eat low-fat didn’t make us fat. But the idea that FAT and CARBS are more important than CALORIES when it comes to OBESITY sure has played a role. It’s CALORIES people. Calories. OK I’m done.
