A dated reading of where we are in the fifth technological revolution, kept daily. Framework first, long horizon, no picks. Walk Notes Saturdays.stewardswalk.comJoined February 2026
The reading stays evidenced and the lead stays positive for a sixth week, and the number got smaller for the right reason. 2 of the 3 bridges report next week, and a bridge is where a change in which half of the revolution is winning shows up first.
The market lead held by the deployers of AI over the builders of the infrastructure narrowed this week, from +0.96 to +0.66, and it narrowed because the builders rose, not because the deployers slipped. That difference is the whole of this week's note.
Nebius's CEO says asset-backed financing and debt markets have dried up for neoclouds, so its next gigawatt is being funded from customer advances (Stocktwits). Capital for the build repricing. Supports.

@CarlotaPrzPerez@Alber_RomGar This is what late installation looks like when the money financing the build and the money buying its output are the same money. The telecoms ran it through vendor financing in 1999. Does the loop break on cost of capital or on demand, and which do you expect first?

Meta fell 7% after a debt-funded quarter, erasing its after-hours gain, and CoreWeave 10%. Build capital repricing. Supports.
Does it move the reading? No. It is what the reading predicts.

Meta's capex hit $34.9B, free cash flow went to minus $2.1B and the shares rose after hours. Build capital repricing. Challenges.

CDS on AI debt traded $9B a week in September, Meta and Nvidia at record spreads. Build capital repricing. Supports.

Evidenced is not confirmed. A single month's sort can reverse, and January carries a revisit. Still, the ecosystem is telling me which half of the revolution we are entering. Full note here.

Discipline note. One sector in my book has repriced lower on signal almost across the board while its commodity sits near a two-decade high. My read is sector-level repricing to verify before any company-level conclusion. The trigger for change was written in advance.
If a company's fortunes depend on the cost of capital for building the thing, it is an installation-phase company whatever its product. This week the market repriced that group and largely left the deployers alone.
