@Drake77309767 @connoramulhern @john_bobbins @maxdubler @ZephyrTeachout I don’t know that “more pay” is what the answer is. I think the answer is an even playing field. If consumers truly had a choice in their care, I think independents would out compete chain stores with excellent service.
@maxdubler @ZephyrTeachout In addition, I’d wager a guess that the amount of money the independent pharmacy saves the local health system by being available for patient questions instead of a quick (4 hour) trip to an already overflowing emergency department, is tremendous.

But I do have time to tell you that the subjective answer is better care, a better workplace experience for staff, and probably better outcomes due to having more time for counseling.
@Pharmassists Idk what payor they use, but we do local Hospice prescriptions. In the last 6 months we’ve filled 94 prescriptions, and total profit is $0.92. In addition, we are on call 24/7 for their home hospice patients. Don’t do it.
